This set of Convention photos from the Changsha ACC Anime Convention is finally ready to meet everyone! Just as I wrote in the caption: "Just like when we first met, call upon me once again, Cyrene." Every offline event provides a heartfelt opportunity to connect, and being able to meet everyone in person this time brought a truly grounded sense of happiness.
Regarding Cyrene in Honkai: Star Rail, this character's styling features rich structural layering. The upper body is primarily white with noticeable cutout and asymmetrical designs; the off-the-shoulder cut and flowing draped sleeves elongate the shoulder and neckline gracefully. The pink-and-blue diamond pattern decor across the chest is exceptionally delicate, while the spliced sheer tulle on both sides of the waist subtly reveals the skin's contour under the light. This required meticulous lighting control during the shoot at the convention floor, as slight misalignments would cast harsh shadows on the reflector. A large, light-blue fabric rose was specially attached at the waist, which, combined with black streamlined accessories, enriches the details while balancing the ornate layers of the skirt.
The skirt is constructed from multi-layered spliced fabrics, including pearlescent satin as well as naturally transitioning pink and blue-purple gradient tulle, creating a gorgeous dynamic flow when walking. For the wig, I selected a pale pinkish-white shade, trimming the bangs to be light and layered; paired with the halo headpiece crafted from hollowed hearts and leaves, the character's ethereal fairy-like aura emerged completely. Fastening the headpiece was actually a tricky challenge: since it needs to float above the head, standard bobby pins would easily slide off during long shooting sessions. I utilized a specialized transparent bracket combined with a headband structure to achieve that flawless floating effect in the final shots.
For props, I specially prepared a coordinated handheld floral bouquet alongside a massive blue recurve bow. The shots holding the bouquet, such as Photo 1 and Photo 5, showcase Cyrene's gentle and quiet side. In contrast, the bow-drawing action in Photo 6 demonstrates an entirely different combat stance. That deep-blue bow felt quite heavy in hand; its sculpted aesthetic carried over the streamlined feel of the costume, and the bowstring was made of a pink-purple material, requiring substantial arm strength to stabilize the pose when drawn.
Huge thanks to photographer WiFi for skillfully guiding me to find the optimal shooting angles amid the bustling, crowded convention floor. In particular, the close-up shot reaching forward from a low angle maxed out both depth of field and emotional atmosphere. The expansive glass curtain walls and dense overhead light arrays in the venue created an excellent diffused light source, making the subject's contours appear bright and translucent while giving the colors a very pleasing saturation.
Behind taking Convention photos at anime conventions, wearing heavy wigs and intricate accessories always requires considerable physical stamina, yet seeing the final results brings genuine fulfillment from recreating the character. The world of Honkai: Star Rail is vast and grand, and Cyrene holds a unique place within it; I hope this Anime cosplay portrayal allows everyone to see her vibrant, living side. During the shoot, we traversed the hall back and forth in search of optimal light and shadow spots. The floor reflections were very strong on site, easily causing harsh noise or blowout if the lighting angle was off, but thanks to the photographer's expertise and repeated trials, we successfully captured the ideal visuals.
