Putting together this Cyrene outfit, from preparation to final photos, took a tremendous amount of thought. In terms of the overall silhouette, the main body of the garment is an intricate white-and-blue dress featuring multi-layered ruffles and cutout tailoring. To faithfully recreate the three-dimensional feel of the official character art, I added structured boning support inside the skirt hem, and specially selected a polarized material for the outer gradient blue fabric, which casts a gorgeous iridescent rainbow sheen under studio lighting.
For the wig styling, the base features long pink straight hair with a white and light blue gradient at the tips. Because the original character's bangs and sideburns possess rich layering, I trimmed the blunt bangs myself and used hairwax to define distinct strands of hair. To ensure the elf ears and the headband blended together seamlessly, I secured silver leaf accessories onto the headband base using hot glue, and when wearing it, I used skin-colored tape to press the edges flush against my own ears while concealing the wig cap.
Regarding makeup, the core focus was highlighting dynamic expressiveness in the eyes. I wore bright blue contact lenses, applied pink-purple blended eyeshadow, paired with a generous sweep of pink blush and polarized lip gloss. The white-patterned stockings for the arms and legs were custom-made finds, with patterns tracing the natural contours of the limbs, which, when paired with white pointed high heels, visually elongated the leg lines.
This photoshoot was completed at a realistic set studio in Xi'an, featuring pink-purple sheer drapery, iron-crafted stands, and white plaster statues as the backdrop, accompanied by a massive bouquet of white hydrangeas and a self-crafted oversized fantasy weapon. The weapon prop was meticulously sculpted piece by piece out of PVC sheets and lightweight clay to form feather and leaf shapes, then spray-painted and colored, with an embedded rainbow ribbon in the center serving as the crowning finishing touch.
During the shoot, to capture Cyrene's gentle yet subtly mysterious aura, I fine-tuned my postures repeatedly. For sitting poses, I focused on tucking my knees inward and pointing my toes straight to extend the perspective of the legs. Because the lighting cast a pink-purple atmospheric glow, to ensure even facial illumination, the photographer (which was myself) added a front softbox fill light, guaranteeing that even across grand expansive scenes, the skin texture and the garment's pearlescent details rendered with absolute clarity. Though exhausting, witnessing how the interplay of light, shadow, and costume mutually enhanced one another in the final frames brought an immense sense of accomplishment.
