On October 4, 2026, the second day of CICF, the weather in Guangzhou still carried the lingering warmth of late summer. For this Kinako cosplay, the overall styling leans towards everyday and casual. The core of the outfit is a loose white printed T-shirt paired with pink shorts. To accurately restore the character, I also specially prepared white short socks. This bottoms-missing style of dressing actually tests lighting and composition at a convention site, but the advantage is that it is extremely convenient to move around, making it great for shuttling in and out of the venue.

The beast ears and tail are the soul of this styling. The fluffy ears are fixed to the golden wig via a headband. To make them look natural without revealing any flaws, I put a lot of effort into styling the wig, trimming the bangs, and adjusting the fit of the sideburns. The tail is secured around the waist using a hidden belt, with soft wire added inside to maintain a natural downward hang or a slightly upturned curve when sitting. The red collar and golden name tag on the neck are the finishing touches, instantly maximizing the overall ACG vibe.

This outdoor shoot took place on the plaza floor tiles outside. To make the frame look less rigid, the photographer NightDiva suggested I prepare a white fluffy round cushion. Proved to be extremely practical, this prop not only insulated against the heat of the ground but also greatly enhanced the softness of the image. The white standing electric fan in photo 1 is truly a life-saving artifact for convention outdoor shoots. When the weather is hot, the long blond hair and thick beast ears stick to the body and easily cause sweating. During breaks, I would just lean right in front of the fan to cool off, and as a result, the photographer captured this very down-to-earth, everyday photo.

Since it was shot in a public place with heavy foot traffic around, the demands on facial and physical control were quite high. The crossed-arms pose in photo 2 was meant to highlight a slight tsundere feel, while coordinating with the light from the photography light stand to make the facial contours clearer. Photo 3 is a classic Japanese seiza posture, with hands naturally placed in front and gaze directed at the lens; this posture showcases the leg lines wonderfully, and the matching of the white fluffy cushion and white socks looks very visually unified. The action of pinching the beast ear in photo 4 was an impromptu idea of my own, thinking it could add a bit of playfulness, and the captured effect turned out quite vivid.

Cosplaying at a convention site requires more than just getting the costumes and props right; maintaining a good state is even more important. Facing all kinds of heavy camera equipment around, one needs to quickly enter the character state and cooperate with the photographer's guidance to adjust angles. This time, bringing a black equipment box and light stand meant finding good lighting and avoiding crowds outdoors was a technical skill. Through this shoot, I gained new experience in fixing fluffy props and utilizing outdoor lighting. The acceptance of this casual style featuring a white T-shirt paired with beast ears was very high among everyone. Although the shooting process was a bit tiring, seeing the final photos made all the preparations worthwhile.
