This Crown 'Flower of Glory' outfit turned plenty of heads at the convention hall, with many passersby taking a second look. For this shoot, I tried a white high-slit long gown made of lustrous satin with great drape, allowing effortless movement without feeling restrictive. The collar features a mandarin stand-up design bordered in black, while the chest is adorned with gold floral embroidery and yellow tassels. These golden embellishments paired with the blonde wig to brighten the overall visual impact.
The wig was a long straight style that took quite some time to prep to ensure the bangs didn't obstruct the eyes. The golden tiara crown and feather ornament overhead had to be securely anchored with hair clips to keep them from tilting when walking or posing for the lens. The shoot took place in an industrial-style hall with diffuse overhead lighting that didn't illuminate the face directly, making the photographer's fill lighting crucial. The lace folding fan and white tasselled scepter in my hands were key props for this styling, elegantly extending movement lines.
The single-leg standing pose in Photo 2 genuinely tested my balance—requiring a stable center of gravity while engaging the thigh muscles. Because of the high slit, preventing wardrobe mishaps while keeping the leg lines flattering required extra care. The shot sitting on the silver stepladder was equally challenging: one foot had to plant firmly for support while keeping the torso upright. Behind every great photo is constant communication between photographer and model on details like ladder positioning, finger joint orientation, and whether the gaze should look above or straight into the lens.
For footwear, I chose glossy black stiletto heels. The convention venue was huge, so walking around left my feet exhausted, but enduring it was essential to deliver that commanding elegance and mature aura. In front of the camera, I consciously engaged my core to support the garment, since such lightweight fabric can look lifeless with poor posture. The photographer nailed the timing for dynamic shots, capturing the exact moment my hair caught the air to inject motion into the frame.
My main goal was enjoying the convention with friends while cosplaying, capturing these satisfying photos along the way. Since convention photos are easily affected by background clutter, post-processing darkened the backdrop to highlight the white gown and skin textures. I hope everyone enjoys the ambiance of this outfit and setting, which brings out the character's proud and graceful essence.
