This Viviana outfit design blends a sharp knightly style with fantasy elements. The main body of the costume clashes black, white, and red, with a black-and-white patchwork corset supporting a tall and erect upper body silhouette. Meanwhile, the large, shredded-cut tri-color cape in red, white, and black not only looks great on camera but also flows elegantly when walking around the hall.
The massive pair of antlers on top is the absolute priority of the entire costume. To ensure it doesn't tilt in the convention crowds, a multi-layer support structure was intentionally used inside. Paired with the white fluffy hood, the overall look carries a heavy yet airy texture. Regarding props, the guard of this two-handed greatsword features highly detailed 3D carving and metallic paint, and its weight distribution for handling was also adjusted. Paired with the small golden candlestick prop in the left hand, it makes it easy to hold onto while striking various poses during this roleplay.
The composition of convention photos at the venue truly tests the photographer's snapshot abilities. The high overhead lights of the convention center provided natural top-light fill for the face, but the polished floor material reflected light heavily, so we deliberately adjusted our standing positions to avoid those harsh highlight reflections on the surface. To capture that close-up shot of kneeling on one knee, I had to tighten my core strength to stabilize my body's center of gravity, while also being careful to position the cape so it wouldn't obscure the shape of the weapon. The surrounding foot traffic was also extremely dense, and everyone worked hard to find a clean background angle through the gaps.
A lot of effort was spent on this costume, from material selection and pattern-making to the final spray-painting details. In particular, those silver armor plates on the boots not only required thermoplastic material for molding but also needed consideration for easy wearing and walking comfort, ultimately adopting a combination of magnetic clasps and straps. For cosplayers who like to study prop and costume structures, a character with such immense layering and rich details offers massive space for secondary creation. Looking back at this set of convention photos, I can feel how incredibly focused my state of mind was at the time, doing my best to showcase the character's calm yet powerful sensory impact.
