[Kaguya cosplay] Cosmic Princess Kaguya! Duo Stage: The Moon's Princess Kaguya Can Truly Fly

Standing under the stage lights at Guangzhou APF, the instant the opening notes kicked in, I felt as though I had truly transformed into Kaguya traversing the cosmos. The sea of glowing penlights waved by the audience below merged into a vast ocean of light. In my ears were Xiaye's clear, resonant breaths and the melody of Cosmic Princess Kaguya! that we sang together. In that moment, all nervous tension dissolved into pure exhilaration—I only wanted to deliver our absolute best stage to everyone in the crowd. I had worried beforehand whether dynamic choreography might tangle with the wig, as twintails during high-intensity dancing are always a serious challenge; fortunately, by repeatedly dialing in the scale of our motions during rehearsals and anchoring the hair accessories firmly, the entire set flowed with surprising smoothness.

Partnering with Xiaye this time, we brought Yachiyo cosplay and Kaguya cosplay to the Convention stage. Having seen both the school uniform and stage idol versions of Kaguya and Iroha previously, Xiaye's take on Yachiyo was truly stunning. For these costumes, we polished countless details in the dance studio, repeatedly testing everything from the snugness of the waistbands to the fluttering arc of the shawls. Shiguang's vocal timbre mirrored the original track so closely, bringing out Kaguya's spirited, bubbly charm with exceptional finesse. During the MC greeting segment, shouting out that energetic "Yaho!" to the crowd and hearing everyone's thunderous roar back felt unbelievably exhilarating. Xiaye's dance energy was off the charts, locking every single step to the beat. I am still amazed by how she executes that seamless mid-air triple leap without breaking rhythm—leaving that jump out of this routine was a truly monumental missed opportunity.

To be honest, this song accompanied me through countless late nights. On the night my thesis was due, I stubbornly finished watching the streaming broadcast before frantically rushing back to catch up on lab experiments. Iroha's journey rekindled my faith in what I had been striving for: building a happy ending for Kaguya. That drive carried me across long miles. While editing photos and running lab trials, I looped this song endlessly—partly because Xiaye's recurring video uploads continually reinforced the melody in my mind. Floating lyric subtitles would automatically play in my head; that level of immersion was magical.

When melodies that kept you company through so many lonely nights come alive in front of your eyes on a live Convention stage, the impact is overwhelming. Standing up there watching the audience's passionate cheers, my eyes welled up multiple times. Cosmic Princess Kaguya! might just mark a pivotal turning point for the Humaotu duo. Seeing Shiguang and Xiaye pour their hearts into sharing their beloved work, watching it gain recognition and love from an expanding community, brings boundless joy. On this APF stage, we showcased a distinct Kaguya and Yachiyo, catching a glimpse of a happy ending destined for this universe.
