The theme for this photoshoot was set at Gojo Bridge in Kyoto, recreating the classic duel between Ushiwakamaru and Benkei (from Fate/Grand Order). Because this historical setting is inherently cinematic, I designed the poses and staging to faithfully capture that light, nimble sensation. The outfit was custom-made, featuring a primary color scheme of red, white, purple, and black, accented with gold trim and yellow buttons. The outer layer consists of detached wide purple sleeves, while the base layer is a black bodysuit with a high white mandarin collar adorned with blue bead ornaments. The bottom hem features alternating red and black ribbons and a red skirt flap with golden buttons, creating a dynamic fluttering effect during movement. To convey a gallant, valiant aura, I specifically wore White stockings and fluffy platform shoes, which paired with the black thigh armor and fur accents to create rich visual layering. In terms of styling, I wore long straight black hair tied into a high ponytail with intricate accessories, including horned hairpins, a large bow, and a golden net hairbun cover, faithfully recreating the character design. The weather was fantastic on the day of the shoot, with Cherry blossoms in full bloom; using ancient architecture and vermilion bridge railings as backdrops yielded stunning results. The photographer excelled at utilizing the surroundings—composing various shots on the red bridge, before traditional Japanese architecture, under Cherry blossom trees, and on stone pagodas. In particular, when shooting the pose lifting one leg backward, I adjusted my center of gravity multiple times to find the most comfortable posture that highlighted the leg lines and sense of agility. The flute-playing sequence was also captured from carefully chosen angles; paired with red eyeshadow and blue colored contacts, the overall temperament matched the character flawlessly. Although this costume has some weight—especially with noticeable tightness around the waist—posing with unsheathing and slashing sword motions on Gojo Bridge felt incredibly thrilling. During shooting, we also referenced poetic lore—leaping away, jumping onto bridge railings, and clapping hands—to showcase Ushiwakamaru's nimble and superb martial arts. In post-processing, the overall color grade leaned toward a low-saturation vintage film look, which, together with scattered Cherry blossom petals, maximized the atmospheric depth.
