For this shoot, I deliberately explored a dark, moody style combined with the Full-screen layout feature under the theme 'Blade of the Half-Phantom'. Styling the silver-white short wig was quite time-consuming; to fit the character setting, the makeup followed a cool fair-skin look to emphasize translucency.
During the shoot, background bokeh was primarily utilized to enhance spatial depth. By lowering background brightness while boosting highlights on the face and clothing, we created a cool, ethereal atmosphere. Regarding the outfit, the green overskirt paired with a white ruffled-cuff blouse revealed rich texture and material depth under dim light.
To keep the imagery dynamic, I specifically incorporated poses such as turning sideways to gaze into the distance and extending a hand forward. The Full-screen layout effectively stretches visual depth, offering a more immersive experience especially when framing flowing hair and holding the prop sword.
Using a wide-aperture lens created a gorgeous contrast between the soft pink foreground flowers and the background light spots. In post-processing, color separation was applied across the green dress, white hair, and black background; this Low-key photography approach preserved fine details while making the character look distinctly imposing.
As an exploration in Low-key photography and Character photography, this photo set is very special to me. Reinterpreting the character's cool elegance through distinct lighting logic produced a final atmosphere I am thoroughly satisfied with.
