[Komeiji Satori cosplay] Touhou Project: The Rose of the Subterranean Realm

For this Touhou Project Komeiji Satori cosplay shoot, precise planning went into wardrobe and props from early pre-production. For the wig, I selected a short pink cut with subtle gradient transitions and neatly trimmed bangs, paired with pink contact lenses and blush-accentuated cosmetics to align closely with her canon visual aesthetics. The attire chosen was a Lolita fashion gown in pastel blue and soft pink color-blocking. It is laden with ornate details: long pastel-blue sleeves flared into wide scalloped lace and pink bowknots, transitioning into a multi-tiered skirt of pink and white lace where each layer is stitched with ruffles and floral appliqués, offering dramatic textural dimension and an airy bounce during motion. For added richness, I wore a matching headpiece adorned with pink roses and golden ribbons.

Regarding props, a circular red-and-white camera-styled prop hung across the chest, flanked by faux pink roses and an entwining golden vine hoop wrapping around the torso. On location, I coordinated opaque White stockings with pink platform heels accented by white bows, anchoring vertical color harmony. The location was set within an outdoor garden appointed with wrought-iron benches and abundant ferns and mosses. Shot under bright daytime daylight dotted with glowing fairy bulbs, I perched on a vintage green wrought-iron bench while photographer @Yekong framed with shallow depth of field, dissolving the lush foliage into creamy bokeh so the subject popped cleanly.

In posing, I explored diverse postures: starting with fingers gently resting on my chin to evoke a tranquil, contemplative reverie, followed by interacting naturally with a slender leafy bough, and extending one leg slightly forward to showcase the clean synergy between the white stockings and platform heels. Zhinv Qinlao Pushi Baicaicai provided invaluable wardrobe support, ensuring that ruffled tiers and lace hems preserved their ideal drape. With multiple layered underskirts, sitting down and standing up required continuous smoothing. The palette harmonized pink, powder-blue, and white against deep emerald greenery, delivering vibrant visual depth. The hardest part of outdoor garden photography lies in preserving skirt puffiness while sustaining focused facial nuance and kinetic poise under shifting conditions. Seeing every fine detail crystallize so beautifully in the proofs made all the preparation and effort thoroughly rewarding.
