[Youmu Konpaku cosplay] The Half-phantom gardener of Touhou Project patrolling the Bamboo forest at night - Image 1

Shooting this set of Youmu Konpaku photos was done in a real-life Bamboo forest at night. This dim environment fits the quiet yet mysterious atmosphere of Touhou Project perfectly. The character's iconic white hair paired with a black bow, along with the classic white shirt, dark green vest, and pleated skirt, creates a clean and capable overall look. To highlight the temperament of the Half-phantom gardener in the night, special attention was paid to hand gestures: one hand naturally hanging down to grip the sword hilt, and the other slightly raised to maintain balance, making the standing posture look less stiff. The bamboo forest in the scene revealed a faint green hue under slight fill light, and the addition of firefly light spots in post-production further strengthened the spiritual feeling of the deep forest. During the shoot, I tried a side-turn angle to let the white hair scatter naturally in the breeze, increasing the dynamic feel of the frame. Although the prop long sword is lightweight, I still had to control the center of gravity when holding it, otherwise, it would easily ruin the overall upright feeling. This night shoot had high requirements for lighting control; it needed to highlight the main character while retaining the deep layers of the bamboo forest background. Through constant light testing, a satisfactory contrast between light and dark was finally achieved. The final photos possess both the cool aura of a swordsman and the agility of the character as a young girl.
