[Reimu Hakurei Cosplay] Touhou Project: Classic Red and White Styling Live stream Snaps

Organizing recent photos from the Convention backlog of this Touhou Project Reimu Hakurei Cosplay based on Touhou fanon designs. The red-and-white palette of this outfit is timeless, with the large yellow bow at the chest and the oversized red bow on the head creating strong visual highlights. The headpiece is paired with pearl chains, while the side red roses and berry brooches add delicate texture.

Preparing this styling took quite some time. The wig features long straight reddish-brown hair paired with blunt bangs and low twin tails, which required patience to manage. The red bow accessories flanking the hairstyle were key focal points, requiring careful fastening of the pearl accents. For makeup, to complement the vintage and sweet ambiance, I applied a clean base and focused on eye makeup—using enlarging contact lenses and a lowered lashline technique to give the eyes vitality, paired with reddish blush and lip tones.

This set is from a Live stream Convention backlog shot outside the exhibition hall. Although not overly hot that day, wearing long sleeves layered with lace made walking around outside somewhat stuffy. The lighting inside the car was soft and ideal for mid-shot close-ups, while outdoor lighting was more transparent, clearly capturing the lace textures of the dress. Because it was shot in crowded areas with frequent passersby, the process involved finding well-lit, uncluttered spots for quick snaps. Seeing other fans in the background added authentic on-site ambiance.

The costume features thoughtful details, such as white off-the-shoulder lace trim paired with red lining and intricate shoulder elements. Although heavy, wearing it fully conveyed the classic presence of a Touhou Project character. During shooting, I maintained frontal angles so the camera could capture the full silhouette of the headpiece.

The photoshoot felt like capturing that lively, bright aura of the setting. Before heading out, I checked that the wig and small costume parts were firmly attached to prevent snagging outdoors. Posing naturally resulted in comfortable, relaxed candid shots. While not emphasizing body curves, the expansive skirt and oversized head bows carried ample weight on camera.

For outfit details, the pale yellow lace bow at the chest was the finishing touch, softening the pure red-and-white scheme. The off-the-shoulder neckline flatters the neck and shoulders while retaining classic dress aesthetics. The semi-sheer lace sleeves subtly revealed skin contours under bright sunlight, requiring careful angles to highlight texture.

As a Touhou fanon look, it is more ornate and decorative than the canonical shrine maiden outfit. To match the dress, I layered the hair so the ends fell naturally across my chest. Turning or tilting my head caused the long twin tails to sway, and the wig's luster showed nicely under natural light.

The fitted waistline balanced body proportions against the large, puffy skirt during frontal or slight profile shots. Reflecting on makeup durability, wearing it all day tested the base, but sunscreen and setting spray kept my skin looking clear and fresh.

I also appreciated the changing backdrops: the car interior suited close-ups; building shadows provided balanced lighting for mid-shots; and outdoor convention areas captured candid documentary moments. Seeking backgrounds added fun to the shoot, and the convention crowd was very welcoming. Overall, the red bow and roses created a vintage doll-like aesthetic, making this Live stream Convention backlog a wonderful memory to look back on.
