The planning for this Seiga Kaku set took some time, especially regarding the wig styling and the costume's layering. The overall theme uses a blue and white palette with sheer gauze, aiming to capture that balance between ethereal grace and playfulness. Before the shoot, the wig underwent meticulous layering. The double buns on top were adorned with metallic accessories, and combined with curled bangs, they framed the face beautifully. These large curls are prone to deformation during transit, so I readjusted them on-site with a curling iron to ensure every strand had a natural, fluffy volume.

As for the costume, the off-shoulder design combined with pearls and metallic chains at the neckline showcases the collarbone while adding exquisite detail. To maintain a lightweight atmosphere, multiple layers of thin gauze and ruffles were used on the sleeves and skirt hem, creating a beautiful, fluid motion when sitting or adjusting poses. The top features a greenish-blue lining with a breathable sheer overlay; this color-blocking design doesn't look monotonous under blue lighting but instead provides a rich, layered transition.

For props, I prepared a slender pipe. Its material is quite rigid, so I had to relax my wrists to make the movements look graceful rather than stiff. I paid special attention to the leg details, wearing white lace-up knee-high socks and tying a talisman sticker with a red thread around my lower thigh. This talisman adds a touch of mystery to the soft look, and the red, white, and blue color contrast gives the composition a stronger focal point.

Most of the lighting used high-saturation blue, paired with side cold-fill light. This ensures the face remains soft and clear while casting an eerie, cool blue halo over the entire frame. Photographer @夜空📷 has a great eye for capturing the coordination between the gaze and hand movements. Since the sleeve fabric is prone to slipping, I had to be mindful of my elbow and shoulder angles to ensure the fabric layers overlapped for that ethereal, floating effect rather than clumping together. Particularly in moments like fingertips touching lips or casting a lowered gaze, the direction of the eyes is crucial—aiming for an effortless yet character-driven aura.

The shoot lasted over two hours to get these natural poses. Although it involved repeatedly adjusting the skirt hem, the angle of the pipe, and smoothing out wrinkles caused by sitting, the final shots made it all worthwhile. The Touhou Project allows for vast creative freedom; exploring different textures while keeping the character's core elements is an interesting experience. The combination of the pipe, talisman, and white long socks captures the character's highlights while visually enhancing the splendor. The wooden window frames in the background, paired with the cold blue set, added a hint of Chinese-style cosplay atmosphere, which fits perfectly with the overall tone of this attempt.
