This time I'm portraying Jane Doe from Zenless Zone Zero. To recreate her dangerous yet charming temperament, a lot of time was spent preparing costumes and props. The jacket chose a cyan-gray leather fabric with a white fur collar added to the neckline; to make the reflective texture look more natural under studio lights, several materials were tested in advance. The inner black cropped tank top paired with a red tie, plus the belt and metal buckles around the waist, give off a very strong Tactical Techwear vibe. The lower body's black leather shorts, special cut-out Stockings, and those cyan-gray strapped high-heeled boots packed with details instantly transform one's aura once put on. Because the boots have a relatively high heel and numerous straps, putting them on, taking them off, and adjusting them require quite a bit of effort, but for visual tension, these tedious steps are a must-experience process.
The wig is blunt-bangs black short hair, with a specially left red long tail at the back, paired with pointed-ear props and cyan-blue contact lenses. When facing the lens, the gaze needed to be deliberately kept cold and stern. The two short daggers in hand are important props for the shoot; to present agility and aggressiveness in the photos, many movements attempted large-amplitude lunges and squats, such as sitting on a folding ladder or lying sideways directly on the floor. To capture the best angle, the photographer and I repeatedly adjusted the wrist's point of force application and the height of the line of sight on-site. Because the costume is relatively tight-fitting and features many accessories, large-amplitude movements easily cause the costume to shift, so every time a pose was finished, everything had to be rearranged. Although striking the poses was somewhat physically demanding, the effect at the exact moment the shutter was pressed was truly worth it.
During the shooting process, I communicated with the photographer for a long time about lighting. The studio used a pure white background, and the lighting leaned toward a cool tone to highlight the texture of the costume, such as the gloss of the leather and the texture of the Stockings. Post-processing also preserved the real texture of the skin, focusing on enhancing the contrast of metal accessories and red elements. I have been pondering Jane Doe's consistent and straightforward personality, so during the shoot, I didn't deliberately strike too many sweet poses, but rather integrated a crisp and decisive combat feel into every piece of body language. This Xi'an cosplay studio photoshoot went very smoothly overall, and the final results completely met my expected standards. I hope everyone can feel the character's unique charm from this set of photos.
