This time, I took on the Grinning Professor from Blue Archive, opting for an Office Lady uniform style. I picked a white shirt with a slightly relaxed fit, unbuttoning the top two buttons for an effortless casual flair. It took a while to find a black pencil skirt with just the right structured cut, which, paired with black stockings and patent leather high heels, not only flatters leg lines but also catches a sleek, gorgeous sheen under the classroom's warm lights—fitting the professor's cool, subtly intimidating aura to a tee.
To replicate her long golden wavy hair, the wig took considerable time to brush and sculpt into shape; topped with a custom golden halo prop, it is exceptionally eye-catching. The red-rimmed glasses were an essential detail, bringing the character's soul to life the moment I put them on. The extendable pointer in hand and the blank ID badge on my chest were also perfect finishing touches, adding great immersion to posing—whether guiding the camera's gaze with the pointer or pacing while holding a folder.
The shoot took place in a classroom scene, where the wooden desks, chairs, and blackboard backdrop harmonized naturally. Since the code name is 'Grinning Professor', I kept my facial expression relatively impassive, pairing it with crossed legs, sitting on classroom desks, or slipping off shoes on the floor to convey an effortless sense of control. I personally love the angle in photo six where I'm leaning forward in the chair, pointer in one hand and folder in the other—it genuinely gives off the oppressive tension of conducting a private lecture.
To be honest, wearing high heels and stockings for a full day of shooting left my calves completely sore, especially while constantly maintaining an imposing, commanding posture. Still, seeing the interplay of light and shadow in the final shots made it all worthwhile. A friend even joked that I looked like a peach-flavored kid trying hard to act like a mature adult, which made for a hilarious contrast. Treating every outfit, prop, and scene with utmost sincerity to capture a character's distinctive charm is truly the greatest joy cosplay brings me.
