When shooting Okita Souji, capturing her destined aura as a genius swordsman is essential. The two distinct color-grading styles in the photos were designed to reflect different facets of her emotional world. Shooting on location at night, the photographer selected an open riverside embankment to suit classic FGO settings. Leaning against a black pillar, I shifted my center of gravity. The katana was surprisingly heavy; letting it hang naturally in hand while catching crisp light reflections required considerable physical endurance. The heeled boots made holding this stance for minutes exhausting, but tightening my leg muscles was necessary to keep the silhouette sleek. Under warm grading, distant city lights dispersed into golden bokeh reflecting off fallen leaves, making atmospheric framing effortless. Under cool grading, dominant blue tones cast everything into deep shadows save for the blade, flawlessly conveying the desolation of her untimely demise and locking in the emotional nuance instantly.

The photographer placed great emphasis on backlighting and side lighting. Because night was heavy, wide apertures were critical to melt background lights and prevent the subject from sinking into darkness, allowing me to gently tilt my head downward toward the blade within the light zone. For Katana posing, a swordsman's stance must be clean and unforced: tucking the chin while keeping the gaze focused along the blade's edge communicated that restrained tension of being ready to draw at any second.

The costume's fabric carries a silky sheen, especially along the haori trims and sleeves, which shimmered under the lights. The cinched waistline gives a crisp traditional Japanese aesthetic from the front while elongating the legs in profile. In post-production, floating autumn leaves and snow particle overlays were added to inject dynamic motion.
