[Jingliu cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Xianzhou Outcast Wandering Swordsman Client Photos

From concept confirmation to actual execution, shooting this set of Jingliu client photos truly required a lot of effort to faithfully recreate. When I first received this costume, my initial focus was on the overall material and tailoring. This armor set primarily utilizes glossy blue PU leather with a pearlescent sheen, a material that produces a gorgeous luminous shimmer under studio spotlights. Combined with surface cloud patterns and dark gold trim, it gives the entire outfit rich visual layering. The breastplate design structure is quite unique; the off-the-shoulder cut combined with the black ring neckpiece blends metallic toughness with the curve aesthetics of anime design. The irregular splicing of the lower skirt was also a challenge; to prevent the train from tripping me during shooting, I repeatedly adjusted the fixed position of the side ribbons on set.

The combination of wig and makeup was another key focus of this presentation. Creating a gradient from white hair to ice blue wasn't easy; I did layered dyeing in advance and kept the blue-based hood structure at the top, which instantly boosted character recognition. Wearing red contact lenses paired with cool-toned eye makeup immediately maximized her distant, icy demeanor, showcasing the classic white hair and red eyes feature. During shooting, I paid attention to controlling my jawline angle to present a soft yet undeniably confident facial expression, perfectly fitting her aura as a Xianzhou "wandering swordsman."

Regarding the prop weapon, this long sword's styling is highly unique—the silver-white main blade body combined with a semi-transparent blue-purple gradient edge produces beautiful light refraction under studio lighting. The arm guards are also embellished with 3D white flowers and red tassels; these details move with high-end texture during positioning shifts, adding lively dynamic elements to the frame.

For this set of client photos, we experimented with three different shooting set designs. The first setup against a pure white background studio was primarily meant to display the overall silhouette and details of the outfit; clean lighting better restored the original luster of the garment fabrics. In one-legged standing poses, the high-waisted asymmetric skirt exposed the full line of legs and boots—a posture that tested core strength, yet resulted in very graceful final photos in this Cosplay photography session.

The second setup incorporated traditional Chinese elements, integrating wooden lanterns, tea sets, and calligraphy scrolls. In this scene, the warm yellow ambient lighting created a powerful contrast with the cool blue highlights on my outfit. This clash of warm and cool tones made the character stand out vividly in the frame. Holding the long sword in front, paired with calligraphy on adjacent scrolls, built an exceptionally elegant Chinese-style ACG atmosphere.

I personally loved the third set design—a dark environment filled with thick black chains. The photographer lowered the main color tone to deep blue and used matching blue fill lights, creating intense dramatic tension and mystery. In that setting, I wore a black eyepatch over one eye and leaned gently among the chains, pairing porcelain skin with red eyes to present a constrained yet stern sense of fragile beauty. The chains were actually quite heavy during shooting, but to strike that brooding pose lurking in silence, we repeatedly refined our postures many times.

Honestly, when interpreting this character, I felt the hardest quality to grasp was her noble, composed demeanor. Although lore defines her as a wandering swordsman bearing a burdened past, in front of the lens she must project an elevated aloofness and proud backbone. For a cosplayer, beyond restoring physical appearance, conveying gaze and posture is paramount. The overall collaboration during this shoot was highly efficient; though the weight of armor and metal accessories was exhausting and challenging poses were repeated over and over, seeing the final image previews made every bit of effort completely worth it.
