These convention photos of Nahida taken on-site at the event are finally organized. The preparation process and set experience this time were even more interesting than imagined, so while memories are still fresh, let's review every aspect of this shoot.
Regarding styling, the wig featured a silver-white base with a distinct fluorescent green gradient at the tips. To accentuate the character's elven traits, elf ear props on both sides were fitted tightly, paired with emerald green contact lenses to give the overall gaze a clear yet divine look. The costume blended white and green; chest lacings and neckline designs incorporated green fabric and metallic-textured patterns. The detached sleeves were segmented, and the waist section boasted delicate leaf-shaped cutout ornaments across several inner and outer layers, giving the skirt hem wonderful dimensional layering when moving around the convention. Legwear featured semi-exposed lace-up guards inlaid with green gems, while open-toed shoes required careful walking on-site, yet enhanced the character's light and ethereal feel when posing.
Two main scene poses were selected for this shoot. The first and third photos both feature sitting on a fluorescent green swing. This swing was actually a structured prop on set, requiring core strength to maintain pose stability while holding onto vines with both hands and crossing legs naturally. This pose demands high flexibility and body control; to capture that effortless, casual resting vibe, angles and center of gravity were adjusted repeatedly. The second photo captured the classic spellcasting pose with arms extended, which not only required continuous back and core engagement to control arm extension, but also keeping facial expressions serene yet focused, matching the light-and-shadow work of post-production editors and lighting assistants to sustain the action's tension.
The post-production special effects were definitely a huge highlight this time. Special thanks to Godai-sensei for adding fluorescent green magical light effects to Image 1 and Image 2. Beyond aurora-green halos encircling the body, there were geometric floating leaves carrying light green glows and magical light butterflies straight out of a forest; these effects perfectly matched the Dendro theme, pushing the ambiance to the max. Meanwhile, Xuangong-sensei assisted with photography and lighting reconstruction for the swing in Image 3, rendering edge bokeh and glowing green vines even more dreamlike, allowing Dendro's all-encompassing vitality to shine through the green radiance.
On set, the background still contained noticeable convention crowds and spot lighting. Through clever focal length selection and angles on site, combined with post-production filtering of cluttered light and crowds, the team made the final photos appear as though truly set within a magnificent natural magical forest. My biggest takeaway from playing the God of Wisdom is maintaining an inner gentleness, calm, and inclusivity—even amidst a noisy convention venue, one must settle down before the camera to ponder the character's depth. Although this attempt still leaves room for improvement, it was a deeply meaningful learning process for me. I will continue honing nuances of character expressions and body movements, hoping to present textures even closer to the character in front of the lens in the future.
