[Furina cosplay] The Water God of Fontaine in Genshin Impact, Dramatic Moments of Blue Roses and Bubbles

This set of Furina's costume features a color-blocking treatment. The contrast of black and white, along with the gradient lake blue of the skirt hem, perfectly fits the atmosphere of the Water God and the Fontaine Opera House. In terms of wig styling, a slightly wavy light blue mixed with white hair color was chosen. Paired with the wide black top hat and pearl pendants from the original design, it maintains the character's traits while making some adjustments to balance a casual feel with a stage presence. The sapphire elements embellishing the glove cuffs, bow tie, and chest are highly eye-catching, focusing the center of gravity of the frame onto the character.

The set design for this shoot specially incorporated well-arranged blue roses and white Roman column statues, creating a concept of "bubbles and drama" that belongs to Furina. We also prepared some bubble props on-site. Their refraction effect under the flashlights is a great addition, breaking the dullness of static frames and adding a dreamy feel. When posing, to fit the character's personality, I didn't use many rigid movements, but chose some lazy and elegant candid capture vibes instead, such as plucking instrument strings, flipping through a book, or gently touching the bubbles in front of me, letting the movements interact with the scene.

When portraying such a highly stylized character, the shaping of makeup and expression also plays a large part. The choice of deep blue colored contact lenses, combined with the blending direction of the eyeshadow, emphasizes the trait of ease and a bit of dramatic small pride in Furina's eyes. For the control of the overall style, we tried our best to make the layers of the frame rich. A large-area softbox was chosen as the main light source, making the blue-and-white-toned scene look translucent and clean without appearing gloomy for this cosplay photography session.
