[Li Zhiyan cosplay] Arknights: Endfield: Silver-White Techwear Style in the Arcade

Shooting this set of Li Zhiyan cosplay from Arknights: Endfield under the arcade neon lights was a style I've wanted to try for a while. The character's silver-blue gradient hair and beast ear accessories resonated with me at first sight; the moment I put on the blue contact lenses, the sharp edge in my eyes instantly aligned with her persona.

For the costume, I chose a sleek, silver-white halter base top and a semi-translucent metallic mini-skirt, leaning into a light Techwear outfit aesthetic. Due to temperature and venue planning needs, I layered an oversized black jacket over this look, whose cuffs feature bow-like details to add rich visual layering. To accentuate the techwear vibe, I opted for an asymmetrical styling on the legs: the combination of black stockings and Black fishnet stockings, paired with a black leather thigh garter, visually elongated my leg lines on camera, while chunky platform boots grounded the overall silhouette.

During the shoot, we utilized the claw machine area in the arcade; its neon signboards and expansive pink, white, and blue tones created a striking color reaction against the character's silver-toned costume in this Arcade photoshoot. The lighting was quite complex, featuring not only the pink neon tubes from the machines but also ambient blue neon glows, which heavily tested the makeup and evenness of skin tones. Fortunately, I went with a clean, translucent base makeup and subtle lip color, preventing facial oiliness under multi-source lighting while keeping the blue contact lenses sharp and focused.

In pose design, we avoided rigid combat postures, focusing instead on capturing a casual, slightly languid vibe. Sitting sideways, resting hands by the ears, or lightly running fingers through my hair all aimed to depict her in an everyday in-game state. The floor mat beneath featured blocks of black, white, and pink with cartoon graffiti, injecting lively elements so the scene didn't feel overly cold. Throughout the Arcade photoshoot, though sitting on the floor in boots was somewhat awkward, our collaboration flowed seamlessly.

This styling truly tested the tailor's control over negative space: because the top is a halter design revealing the waistline, the loose silhouette of the jacket created a fantastic visual contrast with the form-fitting inner layer. I especially love the proportions of an oversized dropped-shoulder jacket paired with a slim mini-skirt; in motion, the sleeves rise and fall, evoking dynamic movement even in static shots. For camera angles, beyond conventional frontal medium shots, we experimented with secondary perspectives like high-angle overhead and downward tilts to better highlight the hair, makeup, and material textures under ambient light—especially the translucent shine of the silver wig against the blue-and-pink backdrop. In post-processing, we preserved the saturation of the commercial neon and metallic textures without heavy filter overlays, hoping to convey the industrial, technological, yet slice-of-life texture of the Arknights: Endfield universe.
