[Jane Doe cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's Cat Thiren cosplay — Classified Mission Gear Ready

From finalizing the plan to completing the photos for this Zenless Zone Zero Jane Doe cosplay shoot, I prepared everything with a mindset of accurately capturing the character's demeanor. Her design intrinsically carries a relaxed yet wild street style; as a Cat Thiren cosplay, that trait of appearing nonchalant while remaining sharply alert deeply fascinates me. Thus, in selecting the costume and accessories, I focused heavily on marrying Techwear outfit elements with street aesthetics.

Starting with facial styling and hair: I deliberately layered this black wig, pairing it with blunt straight bangs to contour the face. Pale green contact lenses and rosy lips formed the core of the makeup, striving to craft her cool yet subtly cunning gaze. The pink animal ears were the finishing touch; when attaching them, I paid special attention to the angle so they blended seamlessly into the hair without looking awkward.

The most prominent part of the costume is this mint-green bomber jacket. Cut in a relaxed silhouette, the white fur trim along the collar not only adds visual dimension, but also balances the cooler tones of the overall ensemble. Beneath is a cropped black undergarment, paired with a slim black tie and a wide tie featuring red geometric patterns for clean layering. The black leather harness with metallic square buckles further enhances the combat tactical presence.

For the lower half, I paired black shorts with sheer Black stockings cosplay, where the black garter strap on the thigh provides both security and a flattering contour for the leg lines. This styling maintains a sharp techwear feel while adding visual appeal. The gloves are an essential prop in this cosplay: black fingerless leather gloves fitted with silver metal guard plates and red-and-black circular ornaments instantly ignite a combat-ready atmosphere when posing. Additionally, the light blue-green short tail with red-and-white mechanical patterns at the tip, while less conspicuous than a giant tail, remains an indispensable character hallmark.

For the shoot, we chose my own living room, mainly because the indoor lighting was soft and even, offering a grounded, everyday realism. The first close-up was intended to showcase makeup and expression, while the second full-body shot felt ideal as a cover image. In this photo, I chose a relaxed stance with hands slightly open to fully present the garment's silhouette, while the Black stockings cosplay and thigh garter are clearly visible. The subject is centered neatly in the frame without crowding the edges, giving a balanced composition. The third kneeling pose aimed to convey dynamic energy during battle or exploration—the lowered center of gravity paired with a focused gaze added more tension than a standing stance. The final heart-sign close-up added a playful touch of interactive charm.

In doing cosplay, I feel the hardest part isn't assembling costumes and props, but conveying the character's inner essence through one's own gestures and expressions. Jane Doe gives me a sense of effortless, confident poise, so during shooting I avoided stiff, forced poses, seeking natural, uninhibited body language instead. We poured plenty of care into this shoot; although shot in a domestic environment, extensive effort went into costume accuracy and atmospheric staging. Bringing 2D characters into reality is immensely rewarding in itself, and I truly enjoy honing my interpretation in this space.
