[Kal'tsit cosplay] Arknights: The Scientific Leader Returns at CP32 Anime Convention

The first day of the CP32 Anime Convention just wrapped up. Browsing through the selfie set taken outside the venue on my phone, I feel this Kal'tsit cosplay styling under natural outdoor light carries a much more breathable, organic vibe than studio lighting.

I chose a relatively close high-angle downward selfie perspective, primarily to emphasize the visual focal point of the wig and eye makeup. The wig is in a whitish-pale green shade with feathered straight bangs and face-framing strands, preserving original fullness while avoiding looking bulky. The accompanying yellow Animal ears create a neat visual frame at the edge of the composition. To match the character's cool demeanor, I specifically chose high-saturation yellow-green contact lenses; combined with downward-angled eyeliner and thickened lashes, they give the gaze intense focus even in upward angles, complemented by subtly shimmering eyeshadow and a dewy lip tint to prevent the makeup from feeling overly harsh.

The Techwear outfit silver-white jacket is another major highlight of this look, displaying natural grayish-white highlights without excessive glare under diffused outdoor light. The black necktie serves as a visual anchor; its yellow-green geometric patterns echo the wig's color palette, while the crisscrossing black leather straps and metal buttons across the jacket add a layered fusion of techwear and biker aesthetics. The rigid stand collar design and dark navy inner sleeves nicely broaden the shoulder line within the frame.

For the shooting backdrop, I chose a spot in front of grayish-green metallic cabinets outside the venue instead of colorful exhibition backdrops, using this industrial monochrome background to highlight the vibrant accents of the outfit. Though it was a candid street snap at an outdoor corner, this environment accentuated the costume's contemporary feel. Shooting during a window of soft natural light sculpted facial contours naturally without harsh neck shadows. At the CP32 Anime Convention, walking through crowds in this layered jacket didn't feel cumbersome at all; aside from occasionally adjusting the angle of the Animal ears to prevent them from getting bumped askew by passersby, overall mobility was great.

The atmosphere at the convention was fantastic, and walking around revealed many dedicated backdrops. Cosplaying is not just about bringing a 2D character into the real world, but also a journey of studying costume architecture, makeup logic, and material textures. While this look appears crisp and streamlined, the shoulder tailoring and collar details took multiple sample fittings and adjustments to achieve this finish. Fully immersing myself in the character's presence and facing the camera with her demeanor brought a true sense of trans-dimensional connection. I hope these details are fully captured and preserved in the final convention photos for this Arknights portrayal.
