This time, I cosplayed Cartethyia from Wuthering Waves. For the shoot, we chose a windowside setting bathed in abundant natural light. The first photo is a candid shot of me resting cross-legged on a white bed, with the outdoor photography background showing white tents and lush green lawns in the distance; the second is a formal frame kneeling on the bed holding two distinctive plush dolls as a fun prop sharing moment. The highlight of this hair and makeup styling lies in the crisp contrast between black and white, along with the utilization of lake-blue gradient fabrics. The black neckline design features cutout details, and paired with the choker, armlets, and a semi-sheer white overlay, the overall ensemble holds rich structural layering.
In the first photo, you can see my styled pale-blonde short hair; the blue tassel hair ornaments on the forehead and back exhibit an ethereal translucency under natural light. To match the shoot, we focused on achieving a matte finish for the base makeup, while the eye makeup was subtly accented with soft pink and blue hues, aiming to express a gaze that is cool and aloof yet tinged with gentle warmth. In reality, securing this wig and fine-tuning the delicate overhead accessories required quite a bit of effort—ensuring they didn't look bulky while preserving an airy lightness.
Outside the window was a glamping-style lawn complete with white tents, wooden fences, and an artist's easel. This outdoor environment gave the photos the refined quality of an indoor studio shoot while retaining a relaxed, breezy outdoor atmosphere. The blue-purple plush doll has an adorable, chibi look, making it perfect as a foreground accent or held in hand, while the other brown-haired doll also matched the tone of the overall outfit nicely. When capturing the first photo, the soft bed and throw pillows visually lent a more languid feel, but I personally prefer the shot kneeling while holding the dolls, which better displays the hemline structure and graceful drape of the dress.
The shooting process was genuinely relaxing without rigid posing. Looking at the raw shots, the two dolls added just the right colorful accents to the frame. Instead of deliberately forcing an overwhelming aura, portraying this character in a softer, gentler way allowed the natural outdoor breeze and character design to breathe naturally into the final images of this Wuthering Waves cosplay. The set did not rely on overly intricate props; the white sheets and floral pillows preserved everyday warmth. The pale blonde wig with slight curls softened my facial contour, while delicate under-eye highlights gave my expression a lively, spirited spark.
By utilizing the diffused natural light pouring through the window, my skin tone came out exceptionally natural and radiant. The back of the white-and-blue dress features a delicate train; kneeling allowed it to spread gracefully around me, which, combined with the sheer transparency of the blue gradient hem, created a remarkably lightweight and ethereal effect. One doll leans toward an aquatic element style and the other toward an anthropomorphic look, ensuring their color palettes harmonized seamlessly. This wasn't just a standard cosplay shoot, but also a wonderful chance to enjoy the outdoor environment and natural daylight with close friends, making the entire experience delightful. Combining the complete styling with outdoor elements gave this photo set an exceptionally refreshing and clean aesthetic.
