The temperature dropped suddenly, so I quickly dug out the thick black tights buried at the bottom of my wardrobe to put them on. This time, I paired them with a warm coffee-colored suit blazer and a plaid pleated skirt. Combined with this headband that features a plush animal ear hair accessory, the overall vibe is both gentle and a bit playful.
The gear used for the shoot was a Nikon Z5 II paired with a Viltrox 50mm F2 Air. The optical quality of this lens really surprised me; the background bokeh under the large aperture is extremely clean, and the color reproduction is very pleasing, giving the skin tone a beautiful sense of translucency straight out of the camera. I took a few casual candid shots on the streets around the perimeter of the convention outdoor photoshoot. The lighting was actually a bit harsh, but by utilizing shadows and a reflector for fill light, we managed to suppress the highlights and preserve the details of both the clothes and the skin.
Personally, I really like the fifth photo with the action of holding the ears with both hands. The gaze and posture at that exact moment look incredibly natural, and the composition perfectly places the figure at the center of the frame. As a cosplayer who has gotten into portrait photography, I feel that a good set of equipment combined with the right outfit can truly elevate the texture and quality of the photos.
This time, I didn't intentionally try to mimic a specific character, but instead put together a daily life-oriented style according to my own aesthetic. Wearing this dark aesthetic outfit paired with small leather shoes, the swing of the skirt hem looks beautiful when walking around. The most interesting part of an outdoor shoot is being able to capture the real ambient light and shadow, which gives a completely different feeling compared to studio shoots. I hope everyone likes this set of photos, and you're more than welcome to exchange thoughts and tips on JK uniforms and photography together.
