The outdoor lighting at this Firefly ACG Expo was truly amazing. Taking advantage of the afternoon sun when it wasn't too piercing, I took a few candid shots by the yellow and black barricades outside the exhibition hall. This bunny ears JK uniform look focuses mainly on a light and refreshing feel. The light blonde short hair paired with a deep blue bunny ears headband creates a very sharp visual contrast between warm and cool tones. The outer layer is an aqua blue sheer short shawl, with a navy blue jumper skirt underneath. The golden badge and button details on the chest keep the overall outfit from looking monotonous.

The skirt hem features a white patchwork design and a tulle lining, creating a fluffy layered look when walking or sitting down, and the shaping effect on the legs is just right. The matching black stockings and chunky-heeled leather shoes retain the girlish charm of a JK uniform while adding a touch of maturity, making it perfect for a convention environment where you want to be photogenic yet comfortable.

During the shoot, I tried a few different sitting and squatting postures. Personally, I prefer the first photo with the angle of holding an ear with one hand and slightly tilting my head, partly because the composition is relatively clean, and partly because the sense of connection between my eyes and the lens is stronger. The low-angle shots of squatting next to the barricades in the later pictures also have a strong sense of narrative, though one needs to pay slight attention to the surrounding clutter. Fortunately, a bit of post-processing made it look very clean.

This kind of cosplay in a real outdoor environment adds a bit more of daily life atmosphere than pure studio shoots. The dynamic movement of the wind blowing through the hair strands and skirt hem prevents the photos from looking too rigid. To maintain the three-dimensional look of the bunny ears and the fluffiness of the hairstyle, I needed to tidy it up with a small comb at any time on site, since the natural wind outside was quite strong after all. The color scheme of the entire outfit is my favorite blue-and-white palette. Contrasted against the yellow barricades, the color saturation is just right. I hope everyone can feel the relaxed atmosphere of this summer convention through this piece of convention photography.
