Bringing Vivian to life in this photoshoot was an extraordinary journey from the preliminary makeup trials straight through to the final frames on set.
First, regarding the makeup and prop preparations: to faithfully capture the character's enigmatic yet elegant aura, the eye makeup was the absolute crux. I chose high-pigment crimson contact lenses paired with reddish eyeshadow buffed deep into the sockets and outer corners to grant the gaze multi-dimensional depth. For the wig, I selected a long pastel violet-blue base and integrated white highlights into the bangs; teasing and styling the fibers took considerable time beforehand to achieve an airy, natural lift. Affixing the Elf ear props was another pivotal step: they had to be seamlessly bonded to the ear cartilage using spirit gum, followed by blending concealer over the seams to ensure total realism before the lens.
Garment texture was something I prioritized deeply. This blue-and-white frock is ethereal and lightweight; the white ruffles along the neckline and the blue ribbons required pristine pressing to drape with fluid elegance on camera. The massive navy bow atop the crown served as the visual focal point, its interior pink motifs adding a spirited touch. To ensure physical comfort and stability during posing, I made minor calibrations to the accessories, securing the armlets and strappy sandals so they wouldn't slip during movement.
Upon arriving on set, the staging was a delightful surprise. Wooden loungers paired with round yellow- and blue-striped balls evoked a vibrant seaside summer vibe. This bright, breezy palette beautifully tempered the character's naturally cool demeanor. Bathed in abundant daylight, the photographer utilized natural rays and ambient reflectors to sculpt wonderfully soft, flattering facial shadows. Because the set was already rich in color, I draped the skirt hemlines and wig strands along the path of the light to capture a luminous, translucent glow.
We experimented with numerous camera angles, among which the high-angle overhead shot left the deepest impression. With the photographer shooting from an elevated vantage point, I tilted my head upward to meet the lens dead-on. This perspective lent an energetic lightness to the expression while showcasing the dimensional tiers of the costume. When posing, I took care with the placement of my limbs, ensuring they complemented the wooden lounger's architecture without getting awkwardly cropped by the frame's edge. To honor character fidelity, I retained the tattoo transfer decals on my legs, which added rich textural nuance in tighter close-ups.
Vivian naturally embodies an innate romantic grace. Throughout the shoot, the line 'a love poem dedicated only to you' echoed in my mind, guiding me to infuse every glance and gesture with tender focus. Unlike high-octane combat roles, this styling leans into dreamlike tranquility, so I favored gentle, leisurely arm extensions and reclining poses to weave a quiet narrative through still imagery.
This shoot served as a fulfilling milestone for my styling and expressive range. Constantly refining my seated poses to sculpt the skirt's arc helped strike an ideal balance between motion and stillness. Seeing the finished deliverables radiate that fresh, fantasy-infused harmony of blue and white made every bit of groundwork worthwhile. I hope this creative showcase offers inspiration to fellow fans who adore this character.
