Many people have asked me what the biggest hurdle was in cosplaying Ju Fufu this time: without a doubt, it was this gear and these intense stunts. As the Eldest Senior Martial Sister of Suibianguan, commanding that formidable aura was an absolute must. This costume is packed with dense craftsmanship—from the yellow-and-black cropped vest and grayish-purple base shirt to the metallic waist belt, thigh garters, and that colossal mechanical sphere prop, whose solid, high-density construction felt immensely heavy in hand. Every swing or pose was an intense workout for my arm and core strength. To recreate that heavy industrial sphere, the prop maker dedicated serious effort to weathering and paintwork: every spike, armor plate, and glowing seam looks remarkably lifelike, but that also caused its physical weight to skyrocket.

To pull off these high-difficulty action shots, I spent significant time beforehand conditioning my core strength at the gym. That mid-air leap in the photos required rigorous abdominal and lower-back control; to freeze that split-second frame, I jumped more times than I can count. Landing with trembling legs while sustaining composed facial expression management was extraordinarily tough. Then there's the low-to-the-ground beast claw sweep—it looks effortless, but keeping extreme balance was grueling, and the tail needed an extra harness anchor just to hold such an organic, arched curve. Although that massive mechanical orb appears to hover, during shooting it was either supported by a hidden stand or required me to actively calibrate my body around its position. Add to that the rigid soles of the high-top canvas sneakers, which put considerable strain on my ankles and knees during these jumps and ground drops.

The mechanical beast claw worn on my hand was another monumental undertaking: to endow it with realistic texture and articulated knuckle flexibility, multiple inner cushion layers were padded inside, leaving red pressure welts across my hand after wrapped takes. Styling the wig was equally demanding—to achieve that voluminous yet feral aesthetic, the stylist used a generous amount of hairspray. Combined with the animal ears and tail, every spin meant exercising extreme caution to avoid hitting bystanders or tripping over my own tail. The fabric itself is not particularly breathable; running around the exhibition hall paired with high-intensity action meant being drenched in sweat throughout the shoot, demanding constant makeup touch-ups. Photo 2's pose was particularly demanding: to showcase the sculpted lines of my back, waist, and hips while directing a focused gaze forward toward the camera, my back muscles and neck remained under continuous, intense tension.

A special shout-out to BLACK, who handled photography and post-processing—his mastery over lighting and dynamic shutter timing was impeccable, and our seamless synergy allowed us to lock in these fleeting frames flawlessly. He guided my pose angles continuously, advising how to extend my legs for sleeker lines and how to frame the shots to unleash the crushing visual intimidation of the mechanical sphere. Portraying characters laden with heavy mecha hardware and beast ears/tails is physically exhausting, yet immensely exhilarating because you get to fully submerge yourself in that bold, unapologetic confidence. To channel her spirit, I rehearsed her gaze before the mirror countless times—balancing a feral edge with the calm mastery of a senior martial sister. I hope everyone loves this powerhouse Ju Fufu! Next time you see me at a convention, don't forget to greet your Senior Sister!
