Holding up this candied hawthorn stick combined with the bamboo shadows and drapery behind me—this forms the core scene of today's Ye Shunguang Cosplay Photo set sharing. The idea behind this shoot was to capture Ye Shunguang's captivatingly paradoxical charm, blending everyday lifestream warmth with crisp combat readiness.
The costume details are abundant. The upper garment features a black base with silver thread embroidery fabric, tailored with a Chinese standing collar and silver frog buttons, creating a vivid color contrast against the ginger-yellow inner shirt. White cloud pattern embroideries on the chest and waist side have crisp lines with a slightly raised texture, giving the clothing remarkable structure. Ring-shaped grey straps around the arms are paired with pure white detachable sleeves; delicate silver edges at sleeve cuffs add depth while making arm lines look cleaner when posing.
The big fluffy tail is an iconic component of this look, utilizing gradient fur. Adjusting body posture during shooting allowed the tail to drape naturally alongside the sitting pose, preventing its large volume from overpowering the shot. The candied hawthorn stick prop echoes the red-and-white palette perfectly, adding a realistic touch of daily life to this Chinese-style cosplay fantasy look.
Much thought went into the wig styling as well. Brown hair color with layered bangs parted in the middle, while hime-cut side locks frame the face and reinforce character traits. The red standing bow on top paired with white hair ribbons and small red flowers on both cheeks break up the dullness of dark clothing, enhancing a lively vibe.
Makeup focused heavily on the eyes—red pupils and subtle reddish eye shadow gave her gaze piercing intensity. Meanwhile, the red cloud tattoo on her thigh served as the finishing touch of this styling. During makeup application, I specifically asked the artist to smudge the edges so it appeared as a natural skin mark rather than a temporary sticker, looking far more authentic on camera.
The set was arranged with green bamboo and semi-transparent light blue drapery. Lush green bamboo and soft drapery provided excellent background blur depth, where the serene bamboo vibe gently softened her combat aura. The ancient book and small silver teacup on the table also infused narrative warmth and everyday life into the scene.
Regarding lighting, the photographer primarily used soft light to avoid harsh shadows, preserving natural sheen on garment embroideries and silver trim. During post-processing, we deliberately preserved skin texture and natural skin tone without over-smoothing, aiming to present a more tactile Anime-style photography work.
Throughout the shoot, the most enjoyable part was immersing myself into this look. Without needing overly forceful poses, simply sitting sideways, lightly resting the candied hawthorn between fingertips, tilting my head slightly with a gentle relaxed smile, perfectly brought out Ye Shunguang's unique aura. This Ye Shunguang cosplay shoot gave me a deeper understanding of blending Chinese style with ACG aesthetics.
