Sharing some behind-the-scenes outtakes from today! It feels like my entire National Day holiday was spent on a whirlwind marathon schedule, radiating such intense workplace fatigue that it's genuinely hilarious. This Furina cosplay was practically a last-minute decision, packing my schedule to absolute capacity. To catch the morning light, I dragged myself out of bed at 5 AM to head to the makeup room. Putting this styling together took far more time than imagined: curling that blue-and-white wig into delicate layers was meticulous work, putting in the contacts was quite a tussle, and the most troublesome piece was that massive hat. Its rigidity and shape relied entirely on internal wire boning, requiring multiple trial fits just to position it without obstructing my face.
During the actual Anime-style photography session, the broad brim easily cast deep shadows over my face, so I prepared a dedicated fill-light setup. Using several small light sources from the side and below, complemented by the blue sheer drapes on set, we successfully sculpted crisp facial contours and created a cool, elegant atmosphere.
In terms of costume, the tight corset and black strappy design were clearly a monumental undertaking the moment I slipped into them. To accentuate that hourglass curve, I hardly dared take a deep breath and could only take tiny sips of water. The matching blue long Stockings cosplay and thigh garters were undoubtedly a highlight of the styling, yet by the end of a full day on set, my thighs were covered in indentations. The skirt also featured multiple cascading tulle layers of Blue-toned outfits that had to be held up wherever I walked; the slightest lapse in attention led to tripping, and it attracted dust so easily that the photographer had to pause regularly to brush it clean.
The first standing shot actually required immense effort behind the scenes. To exude that graceful, aloof poise, pulling in the abdomen, engaging the hips, and keeping the waist perfectly straight were essential to make the legs appear slender and elongated. The photographer coached me on how to direct strength into my gaze; after holding that pose in such restrictive clothing, I collapsed from sheer exhaustion, though thankfully the raw shot turned out remarkably clean.
The second seated pose was relatively more comfortable. Leaning lightly against the white carved pillar and fanning out the skirt hem, I could finally catch my breath and relax, achieving a far more natural presence while showcasing the rich layered texture of the garment.
As for the third mirror selfie, that was snapped casually right after wrapping the main scenes, having switched into my everyday off-white coat before taking off my makeup. No fill lights, no reflectors, and even the toner bottle on the table was in full view—capturing the most authentic state of exhaustion, with most of my lipstick already worn off. Looking at myself in the mirror was both disheveled and comical; this is truly what corporate fatigue feels like.
Even though running non-stop all day felt more exhausting than actual work, seeing the fruits of my labor through the lens made every bit of effort worthwhile. I definitely need to build up more stamina for future cosplay projects, otherwise surviving another whirlwind, physically demanding schedule will be nearly impossible.
