The experience of this Zenless Zone Zero Fes offline event was amazing; the Canton Fair Complex in Guangzhou had an exceptionally spacious venue, and the stages built under the metal truss structures were filled with a cyber-industrial visual impact. The huge screens in the exhibition center circularly broadcasted atmospheric performance visuals, while everyone down below held up glowing light sticks, moving to the beat. That sense of belonging surrounded by fellow fans layer upon layer is something watching a livestream on a screen can never replace.
For this Vivian cosplay, I poured massive energy into the styling. The iconic light purple wig was specially chosen with layered hair strands, featuring slightly curled hair tips and thinned bangs to faithfully reproduce the character's light, airy fringe curve. Red contact lenses matched with color-coordinated eye makeup, plus highlighting emphasizing the lower eyelids and aegyo-sal, ensured my eye expressions remained sharp and focused in front of the lens amidst the complex lighting of the anime convention. The costume portion utilized glossy black fabric spliced with pure white inner wear; the dark blue striped bow tie and the purple translucent gemstone nameplate at the collar served as the visual anchors of the entire styling, with fabric folds and textures perfectly aligning with the lightness and crispness of the character's design.
Foot traffic at the site was intensely dense, with long lines forming in front of various booths, yet the atmosphere of communication among everyone was exceptionally friendly. The most unforgettable memory of this trip actually happened at the accommodation after leaving the exhibition hall. By pure coincidence, I met a lovely young lady staying right next door at the hotel, and we exchanged convention routes and queuing experiences. Before leaving, she even specifically decorated a Polaroid photo with cute little doodles and gave it to me. Now, looking at these three carefully embellished group photos, I feel that offline social connections, though brief, can always bring more vivid emotional bonds than online ones.
Of course, as a regular convention-goer, collecting merchandise is an inescapable segment. This time I picked up a massive amount of merch, and the lineup covering the entire table is quite a rewarding achievement. From laser cards that shift colors depending on ambient light, to exquisitely textured chibi acrylic pendants and plush little items, along with a red blessing slip marked with great fortune—every single piece acts as a physical medium precisely capturing the convention's memories. The finely crafted film-feel transparent card with bottom fine-line textures maxed out the detail level, and fiddling with it in hand felt like recreating all the lights, sounds, and electricity of the venue.
Having experienced three days of high-intensity and fulfilling offline activities, now returning from Guangzhou to Fujian carrying a heavy suitcase stuffed with merchandise and group photos, I am physically back to my daily IP routines, but my entire emotional state still seems to be floating among the cheering crowd beneath that metal truss structure. This withdrawal reaction accompanied by a trace of mild exhaustion is probably the most reluctant yet lingering aftertaste feedback after fully immersing oneself in a passion.
