[Tachibana Hikari cosplay] The Tactical Little Devil in Blue Archive: Convention photo Record at Hangzhou China International Cartoon and Animation Festival

The Convention photo shots from this Hangzhou China International Cartoon and Animation Festival are finally sorted out! As a Tachibana Hikari cosplayer from Blue Archive, I found a relatively quiet corner in the backstage dressing room and makeup area of the expo to shoot this photo set.

Speaking of this character, the 'little devil' setting and Hikari's signature traits mentioned in the post were things I deeply experienced during this performance. The elf ear design adds plenty of fantastical flair to the character, and the green-and-white long hair with blunt bangs recreates that capable yet nimble aura. The outfit utilizes a color-blocked design of white, blue, and grey; the top is a halter-neck crop top with true-to-original blue neck straps, and under the fill lights at the venue, the fabric texture showed up crisply. The lower half is paired with a white pleated skirt accented with blue trim, which, combined with the white over-the-knee socks for White tights cosplay, not only elongates the body proportions but also adds a distinctive Japanese anime aesthetic to the entire silhouette.

For the shoot, we chose an area near the backstage changing and makeup rooms, where a white round plush rug served as a natural staging ground. I alternated between seated and kneeling poses to diversify the camera perspective, presenting Hikari's pointed ears, tail, and overall silhouette with greater three-dimensionality. In the first seated photo, the tilted body angle paired with extended leg lines beautifully showcased the subtle sheen of the white stockings, appearing natural and soft under the lighting.

In terms of accessories, besides the signature long tail and ear pieces, I deliberately added yellow-and-white cheer pom-poms, which looked vibrant while waving and complemented the character's lively personality. The black-and-white wrist guards added detail, giving the overall look more tactical flair. Although these accessories look lightweight, maintaining long periods of standing, turning, and searching for suitable shooting angles in a real convention backstage setting proved to be quite a test of stamina and posture control.

The backstage atmosphere was actually quite bustling; photography light stands, lenses, and passing attendees in the background infused the scene with genuine realism and energy. Yet it was precisely in this environment that candid snapshots felt even more authentic and natural. To achieve the best possible state, I tried various poses—such as leaning forward on the ground supported by both hands in a kneeling posture, and a standard salute with one hand at the forehead. The salute combined her energetic charm while honoring the game's unique concept of being slightly mischievous yet imbued with tactical spirit.

Looking back at the complete hair, makeup, and costume work, I feel I achieved good harmony between the gear and the scene. From the clarity of the makeup to the styling of the wig, everything struck a balanced sweet spot of being faithful without feeling overly unnatural. This Convention photo record is not only a sincere homage to the character, but also a self-expression of my passion for cosplay.

This trip to the Hangzhou China International Cartoon and Animation Festival was incredibly rewarding. Being able to document this carefully prepared styling in an environment surrounded by fellow enthusiasts makes for a wonderful keepsake both in front of and behind the camera.
