[Kallen cosplay] Cool Convention photos of the Invitation to the Mad Banquet Armor in Honkai Impact 3rd

I finally finished shooting the Invitation to the Mad Banquet armor for Kallen cosplay. From receiving the costume for fittings to shooting on-site at the Annular Universe Anime and Gaming Carnival, and finally receiving the same-day return photos from the photographer, my most direct impression across the entire process is that this costume has an overwhelming amount of detail.

Let's start with the overall styling. The silver-white wig was freshly trimmed before the comic convention, with the small black hairpins on top secured firmly. The blue contact lenses paired with cool-toned eye makeup can easily look artificial under harsh convention top lighting, but the photographer captured the angles with pinpoint precision. The core of the outfit is a rigid mecha suit in black, white, and red; the pauldrons and breastplate were crafted from EVA foam and PU leather, layered over a black bodysuit and dark blue shorts. Moving around the convention hall in this gear, the overriding sensation was stuffiness and heavy weight. The shoulder armor is angular and rigid, restricting arm movement, and holding the two white dual guns with red indicator lights while posing was genuinely exhausting.

Moreover, the leg styling is very distinctive: the left leg features openwork strap thigh rings, while the right leg wears Over-the-knee socks with red trim and white accents, paired with platform red-and-black high-heeled boots. Standing for extended periods put immense pressure on my heels and soles, but seeing the final photos made every bit of effort worthwhile.

The photographer was amazing that day; we found a black folding stepladder, and I sat on the edge or stepped onto it to perform various poses. While shooting, I kept thinking about how to balance the armor's rugged toughness with feminine curves. Poses included aiming the gun sideways, pointing dual guns straight at the camera, and dynamic high kicks on one leg. The most difficult was the final combat stance with both feet balanced on the steps, requiring me to maintain equilibrium while keeping my facial expression sharp with a subtle, confident smirk.

Having cosplayed for so many years, seeing comments saying 'It's 2024 and people are still cosplaying Kallen' gave me an indescribable warmth. It's a wonderful feeling when classic characters are remembered, and this armor carries so much love for this character from Honkai Impact 3rd. At the convention, this gear drew many onlookers. Although fully bundled up, with exposed areas mainly around the straps and Over-the-knee socks, dynamic poses really put body stamina and posture support to the test.

The mood of this photo set turned out fantastic. The slightly hazy atmosphere of the venue, combined with backlighting casting a radiant halo along the edges of my hair, created an incredible sci-fi vibe. The photographer provided return Convention photos right on the spot, and photo selection and editing went smoothly and quickly. I could feel that he truly captured the essence and kinetic power of this outfit. For me, this was an exceptionally thrilling and satisfying photoshoot. There were many fellow fans on site; despite the noisy convention hall, everyone was very respectful toward photographers and cosplayers, giving me plenty of creative freedom. Next time, if given the chance, I hope to bring more weapon accessories or find a venue with stronger metallic textures to shoot this styling again.
