To do justice to Cantarella for this shoot, I adjusted the makeup multiple times. The eye makeup was by far the most labor-intensive step: to evoke that deep, alluring gaze, I tested three different pairs of light blue-grey contact lenses before finally settling on the pair with subtle grey undertones. The eyeshadow incorporated extensive pink-and-rose smudging, with the lower lash line deeply smoked out; paired with bold winged eyeliner and dense, sweeping false lashes, the eye contour was elongated to enhance an enigmatic aura. The purple diamond-shaped insignia beneath my left eye was hand-drawn using gel eyeliner and micro-fine glitter, revealing delicate layers upon closer inspection, while the tiny beauty mark was the crowning touch. For the lips, I applied a high-shine pink lip glaze. In the second photo, I placed a star-shaped sequin onto my tongue to show off during the pose; it glistened under studio lights and yielded fantastic shots.

Trimming the wig took considerable time, as the bangs and temples needed airy, piecey volume without hugging the scalp too flatly, which would look stiff. The midnight-blue blossoms and white lace hairpieces on the crown were fastened directly into the wig base so they stayed put throughout shooting. The garment details were just as intricate: the ruffled white neckline, paired with the navy-to-pink gradient diamond motif across the chest, caught the light brilliantly with its gilded piping. The massive golden sapphire brooch on the bodice and matching drop earrings took scouring several prop boutiques to assemble, offering substantial weight in hand. The nail art aligned with the styling, featuring a nude gradient accented by silver rhinestones and delicate metal chains, perfectly visible when wearing rings.

Did everyone manage to pull the Matriarch during her rerun? For this shoot, I scrutinized every in-game reference to the bone, double-checking the jacquard weave of the fabrics and jewelry placement multiple times. Swiping right reveals the tacet mark special effects, which were given custom cosmetic treatment that I am very pleased with. We used lateral rim lighting throughout the shoot against varied backdrops: the first shot featured a metallic fringe curtain for a low-key mood, while the second transitioned to a bright interior space, presenting entirely different ambiances. When cosplaying detail-heavy characters, the greatest joy lies in transforming a 2D design into 3D reality piece by piece. Watching the character come alive in the mirror brings an irreplaceable sense of fulfillment. Prepping took a long time, and I hope everyone enjoys this detail-focused approach to recreation.
