I finally got to complete my makeup in front of the mirror today for this Cartethyia Cosplay outfit from Wuthering Waves, getting ready to head out. The process of putting everything on actually took a bit more thought than expected, especially balancing overall layering and local accessory details; without adjusting angles and fit carefully, it easily looks loose in front of the camera.

The off-the-shoulder design of the upper body is the highlight of this look. The white and blue light tulle fabric gives the whole character an ethereal, flowing temperament. The blue rope knot crossing design on the chest paired with black geometric patterns creates sharp visual contrast. To prevent the off-the-shoulder position from looking cramped during casual cosplay selfies, I used double-sided tape to secure the shoulder straps slightly, keeping the neck and shoulder lines clean while ensuring nothing shifts even with larger movements. The two semi-transparent aqua-blue trailing veils at the back have a wonderful drape; although it's easy to trip when turning around at home, they should make for awesome dynamic elements outdoors in the wind later.

The combination of the large white outer top and black skirt hem brings an elegant yet neat layered feel. The blue-and-white cross pattern and botanical edge embroidery below the skirt hem are exquisite, echoing the upper body details nicely. Metallic fleur-de-lis charms hanging on both sides of the thighs have some weight, swaying lightly as I walk—this kind of small detail adds plenty of vivid vitality to a flat outfit.

For the lower half, I chose white tights paired with transparent chunky-heeled open-toe high-heeled sandals. For character silhouette shaping, pairing a white thigh-highs outfit with transparent high heels is a very effective way to visually elongate leg proportions. The crossed-leg standing pose in the photo displays the overall light and airy feel nicely. The ankle straps on these shoes provide great support without making my feet look wide, and the chunky heel design makes walking stable, preventing posture distortion from off-balance weight, which is crucial since outdoor shoots involve walking on various surfaces.

Regarding hairstyle, the light golden long hair was given many detailed treatments this time. Blue hair ornaments at the crown are interwoven with hair strands, paired with small side braids, requiring time to tidy into a spontaneous yet neat look. Most unmissable are the pointed elf ears cosplay elements, which not only shape the character's non-human traits but also flatter cheek contours on the sides of the head, instantly evoking an ethereal otherworldly atmosphere once worn.

While taking mirror selfies is the most relaxed approach, it also tests outfit balance the most. When taking photos, care must be taken not to let the phone block too many cross-strap details on the chest, while periodically checking whether the white tights are pulled smooth and if skirt pleats look bloated. Today I mainly tested my feel under indoor lighting, checking whether lines across shoulders, waist, and thighs flow smoothly as a basic test for the formal shoot.

Although I'm already very satisfied after taking this set of photos, true amazement often comes from the seamless blend of character and environment. Now all preparations are complete, and I've set today's shoot plan—next is simply enjoying the confidence and joy brought by this character.
