The details on Cantarella's costume are truly something that inspires both love and dread. In preparing to portray this Wuthering Waves character, I spent an entire afternoon sitting at my desk just studying the subtle jacquard patterns on the fabrics and the exact placement of every accessory.

Regarding the choice of fabrics, I tested several different materials to achieve that lustrous sheen bridging metallic sheen and silk satin. The golden filigree ornament at the chest is set with a blue gemstone, paired with lace trimmings at the collar; it needed to deliver an ornate visual presence while adhering closely to the skin without slipping. Styling the wig was another formidable hurdle: the purple-to-light-blue gradient, combined with the lace and floral hair adornments at the crown, required layer-by-layer styling and setting to achieve a natural, voluminous contour. For makeup, to capture the character's temperament, I wore blue contact lenses, added a matching elemental teardrop makeup accent beneath the eyes, and swept cool-toned eyeshadow in the same color family.

The location on the day of the shoot was a relatively spacious, dimly lit indoor setting; this dark backdrop allowed the subject to stand out to the greatest possible extent. Photographer Spicy Beef Skewers (Mala Niuniu Chuanchuan) dedicated tremendous effort to the lighting arrangement: sharp cool-toned key lights shone down, perfectly highlighting the blue-and-purple gradient patterns swirling across the skirt hem. For props, we used that custom-made semi-sheer blue lace umbrella prop. When posing, not only did the canopy need to form an elegant arc, but it also had to be adjusted in harmony with bodily movements. Whether standing or sitting, the slightest difference in the grip and angle of the umbrella completely shifted the mood of the frame.

The skirt features a high-slit cut on the side, paired with over-the-knee White stockings and garter rings with metallic buckles, accentuating the leg lines gorgeously during posing. Throughout the session, I experimented with poses like resting my chin on my hand, extending a hand forward, or looking back over my shoulder. To sustain that subtly mysterious yet razor-sharp aura, the focal point of my gaze and the elongation of my posture required constant awareness. Sometimes a pose had to be held for minutes at a time, keeping my entire body engaged until the shutter clicked, all to capture that flawless single frame. While the costume is elaborate and demanding, the texture it delivers on camera is truly delightful—which is precisely the most enchanting aspect of cosplay.

Overall, this shoot took considerable energy in preparation and pose choreography, but it gave me a much deeper understanding of Cantarella as a character. From costume fidelity to emotional resonance, the entire journey was filled with challenges. Seeing that cool, aloof, yet subtly alluring atmosphere in the final images makes every bit of past effort feel completely rewarded. This photo set serves as a fulfilling milestone for all my recent preparation, and I'm glad to preserve this unique visual experience.
