Day 1 of the Akon convention has wrapped up, and I can finally sit down to properly sort through today's photos. Today's black-and-white dress for Rem was heavier than expected, especially the multi-layered lace trim along the hem, which had substantial weight while walking. The ruffled skirt layers, paired with white tights and black round-toe Mary Janes, create a strong visually elongated silhouette. However, walking in Mary Janes for a long time made the instep of my feet ache, and because the White stockings were sheer, they easily rubbed against the insoles. For the visual result, I had to grit my teeth and persevere. The front bangs completely covered my right eye, so to see clearly while walking, I had to tilt my head up slightly; fortunately, the colored contacts were very clear with no blurred vision. The platform shoes and cinched waistline of the outfit really test posture, requiring me to stay upright constantly so it wouldn't look slouched from the side. The lace on the shoulder straps slipped off easily, so I pinned hidden snaps on the shoulders. Positioning the headdress was also crucial—before leaving, I tested angles repeatedly with clips to ensure the white faux flowers were displayed in the best position without blocking my line of sight during shooting. For makeup, to fit the character's temperament, I enlarged my eyes with light blue contacts, elongated the eyeliner slightly, and paired it with peachy-pink blush and lip gloss to match the overall cool-toned aesthetic. Today I experienced Akon's foot traffic, which was far livelier than expected. People were calling out the character's name for photos all the time; despite sore feet, seeing everyone enjoy the recreation made me genuinely happy. Exchanging small tips on makeup and prop crafting with fellow fans made the whole day feel deeply rewarding. Because we were rushing, I didn't get a chance to take many full-body shots in the best lighting areas and could only find an empty corner for mirror selfies. The convention air conditioning was blasting, so standing around for a long time in an off-shoulder outfit felt chilly—make sure to bring a light jacket to the venue! The exhaustion of Day 1 was completely healed by the new friends I met, and tomorrow's schedule is packed full. I hope to explore for another day in even better spirits.
