With the official return to work tomorrow, I took the last bit of the holiday to sort out this office-themed photo set of Wuthering Waves' Zani. Featuring myself, Yu Ziyan, in the frame, I experimented with an everyday yet commanding mature Office Lady aesthetic. To capture the character's signature traits, I put on that distinct pair of curved black horns alongside pointed elf ears, finished with a white-to-pink gradient wig and colored contacts. Honestly, pairing semi-rimless glasses with this wig and red eyes instantly channeled that cool, slightly fatigued workplace aura.
The wardrobe centered around a black pinstriped blazer jacket and a matching pencil miniskirt, layered over a lace-trimmed inner camisole. Around the neck was a black choker with fine straps, accented at the waist by a black leather belt with a silver metal buckle from which a small cross pendant dangled, clinking subtly with every step. Wearing a customized employee badge along with sheer nude Stockings made for a quintessential corporate workplace ensemble, yet crowned with those fantasy elements, the visual contrast was strikingly sharp.
The location was set in an authentic office interior featuring white desks, keyboards, monitors, and telephones. To evoke a grounded sense of a working wage slave, I held the telephone receiver pretending to answer client calls, pushed up my glasses while typing at the screen, and even sat back in the ergonomic chair displaying the file folder and ID badge. For the seated desk frames, the photographer carefully found angles to highlight the leg contours and stockings, balancing corporate sharpness without looking rigid. The shot standing with hands braced on the desktop carried a subtly playful, mocking glance that completely commanded the outfit's presence.
Securing the wig and horns took considerable time, particularly the curved black horns which required repeated bobby-pin adjustments to ensure seamless angles from every perspective. The vivid red contacts beneath cool-white fluorescent office tubes made my gaze piercingly sharp. To avoid looking like an ID passport photo, I relaxed my facial expressions, tilting my chin slightly or adopting an aloof, casual demeanor so that despite formal business attire, her untamed, unconstrained personality shone through.
This photo set aimed to capture an emotion everyone recognizes: that universal dread when holiday hours dwindle and one must return to being a wage slave. Thus, in posing and micro-expressions, I introduced traces of weariness mixed with forced professional courtesy—such as detached apathy while holding the receiver or resting my chin in hand staring blankly at the screen. I am very pleased with the final result; the fabric textures and authentic office setting blended harmoniously without overblown post-processing, preserving real workplace atmosphere.
The folders and telephones prepared by the prop team were spot on; during takes, I couldn't help thinking that facing these daily in an actual cubicle would exhaust anyone in days. Consider this set an advance rehearsal for the upcoming workweek—I hope everyone can find their own spark of fun amidst hard work. Time to go set tomorrow morning's alarm.
