[Shirasu Azusa cosplay] Lawn and Breeze Under Backlighting: A Quiet Moment in Blue Archive

Outdoor backlighting combined with this outfit really gives the photos an atmospheric feel. This Shirasu Azusa costume actually has quite a few details, such as the design of the collar, the patterns on the armband, and the black lace layering under the skirt hem. To ensure a nice drape when standing, a slightly stiffer fabric was intentionally chosen for the dress. Styling the silver wig took more time than expected. To present a natural, flowing texture, slight adjustments were made to both the top and the ends. Paired with the purple hair flowers and the yellow halo, the balance of the overall look came together perfectly. During the shoot, to stay true to the character's setting, I chose to walk barefoot on the lawn. The texture of the ground was actually softer than expected. Paired with the long-handled umbrella in my hand as a prop, it kept my hands from looking empty. The photographer chose the perfect time of day for this session; the side backlighting cast a beautiful soft glow along the edges of the hair strands. The moment I looked back at the camera, my mood was actually quite relaxed. I felt that the aura of this character didn't require forcing any poses. No exaggerated color adjustments were made in post-processing; we mainly preserved the warm yellow tones of the sunset from the original shots so that the character and the background in the frame would blend more naturally. The halo on top of my head is made of lightweight material. Although it needed to be fastened tightly when worn, it didn't loosen even after turning around at several different angles. The small white wings on the back added a certain three-dimensional depth, creating a serene atmosphere when standing still. Overall, this set of photos beautifully recreates the impression of this character in my mind. Considering the character's own setting, the predominantly black-and-white navy sailor suit paired with long white hair, along with the highly eye-catching yellow stripes around the skirt hem, stands out vividly even in an everyday outdoor location. This is also why we ultimately chose an outdoor public green space to complete this shoot, as the texture under natural light feels a bit more vivid. A friend mentioned that the moment where the skirt slightly lifts with each step in these photos is very cinematic. However, because I wasn't wearing shoes, I really had to pay extra attention to the lawn beneath my feet while moving around to avoid stepping on sharp pebbles. Fortunately, the shooting process went quite smoothly, bringing this commissioned photoshoot to a successful conclusion.
