This IDO Convention photos set highlights my The Shorekeeper cosplay from Wuthering Waves. The texture of the costume is very unique—the pale-blue translucent chiffon has a flowing water-ripple effect, while the glossy deep-blue train adds visual elongation. Paired with delicate silver chains and pearl ornaments on the arms, it reflects beautifully under the venue lights. To achieve a complete dimensional look on the convention floor, several supports were built into the costume, and the wig required careful styling. The reflective grey floor at the venue matched the water-element setting perfectly; whenever the skirt swirled, a gradient sheen appeared in the reflection.
Shooting at a convention is completely different from a photography studio. In the crowded space, one has to scramble for spots, and the lighting is chaotic. However, the huge black fan behind me was a lifesaver, billowing the skirt and long hair to infuse the photos with dynamic movement. The floor was quite hard, making standing for extended periods painful—especially in these white criss-cross strap high-heeled sandals. While they elongated the leg silhouette and matched the outfit's theme, they placed immense pressure on the ankles all day long.
During the shoot, I constantly regulated my breathing to maintain that ethereal, gently melancholic, and elegant composure. I also had to make sure the fine chains on my arms didn't catch on the fabric, and take care that the long blue train didn't trip me or get stepped on by passersby. This time, I experimented with pink-purple colored contacts and water-inspired eye makeup. Because The Shorekeeper possesses a serene disposition, facial expressions couldn't be exaggerated; they called for a calm, subtly detached look. To preserve an overall sense of airy grace, the train featured translucent fabric that faintly revealed the leg lines. The white bandeau top and deep-blue aqueous drapery complemented each other with rich layering.
Inside the convention hall, waiting for a lull with a clean background took a long time, and I met many photographers who kindly helped clear the area and make room—I am truly grateful to them. While executing such complex Convention photos tests both physical and mental endurance—bearing the weight while keeping expressions in check—seeing the light and dark blue skirts intertwine under the cool lighting, mirrored across the glossy floor, made all the effort worthwhile. Each convention is an ongoing practice in better capturing a character's core traits. This costume demands great attention to detail to recreate that gentle fragility, and this set of Convention photos serves as a truly satisfying milestone for me.
