When I first unboxed this Carlotta costume, what captivated me most was the intensely dynamic red-and-black color contrast, as well as the subtly shimmering high-gloss fabric across the surface. To faithfully recreate this texture before the camera, we invested significant thought into the studio lighting. Because patent leather and gloss fabrics easily blow out—and poorly managed specular reflections can look cheap—we ultimately opted for softboxes paired with rim backlighting to trace the garment's contours while preserving the fabric's authentic texture and highlight roll-off.

For hair and makeup, the silver-white wig was the pivotal element. To reflect the character's cool glamour and slightly rebellious edge, I deliberately blended holographic laser tinsel strands into the original wig. During the shoot, even the slightest shift in angle caused the hair to shimmer with delicate, multi-dimensional glints, looking far more vibrant than plain silver. For the hair accessories—the large red bow and the black cross-knot—I reshaped and set them anew to ensure they wouldn't collapse or sag during dynamic, wide-ranging poses.

The asymmetric cut of the costume posed a major physical challenge. Featuring a high-low silhouette, the front showcases a black pleated design while the back cascades into a long crimson train. Posing in a skirt like this hinges on core engagement and center-of-gravity control. For example, in the shot standing with one foot perched atop the Roman column prop, stabilizing my balance while keeping the other leg fully extended and taut was essential to maintain flattering proportions. Wearing leather gloves also demanded conscious control over finger posture so they wouldn't look stiff. In seated poses on the floor, the long red train had to be spread out meticulously, arranging the edge folds with gravity to build dimensional layers and achieve that grand, sweeping cocoon effect.

Throughout the entire shoot, I continuously sought that headspace imbued with fatalism and cool serenity. From the focal point of my gaze to the extension of my limbs, every movement strived to align with the character's inner core. Completing this shoot was undeniably exhausting—the weighty train and high heels were quite a physical test—but seeing the fierce visual clash of crimson and black in the final images, along with the fluid gleam of the reflective fabrics dancing under the studio lights, made all the preparation and effort completely worthwhile.
