This set of convention photos shot in a well-lit indoor environment has finally had all its details organized and frozen in time.
During the shoot, a fixed pose of raising the prop from an elevated position was specially chosen. To express that sense of lightness instead of stiffness, my legs actually had to bear a lot of force in the high heels to maintain balance. The light cyan long spiral curly hair is the visual center of gravity of this look. To give the spiral segments a three-dimensional feel and thickness in front of the lens, the wig used multiple layers of hair wefts for stacking, while the curvature of the bangs makes my overall temperament lean more toward cool and aloof.
The color scheme of the costume is concentrated on red, white, and black, and the red crossed rope knots at the chest and belt heavily test the tailor's craftsmanship. The most brilliant part is the large area of red and white ink-wash style long streamers on both sides of the waist, which not only visually elongates the leg proportions but also brings out a wonderfully flowing aura when walking slightly or posing. The white arm sleeves combined with the thin red straps create a sharp and capable feel akin to a traditional dancer's battle garb. Paired with black stockings and red lace-up high heels at the ankles, the overall look is unified and layered in its color scheme.
For this shoot, I specially brought three matching chibi plush dolls (Phronuonuo) as auxiliary props, placing them in a scattered, orderly manner at my feet to act as backup dancers or a small audience. This arrangement instantly breaks the monotony of a solo convention photo, adding a touch of vivid storytelling and interaction to the frame, and looking at them truly gives a great sense of achievement.
The huge floor-to-ceiling glass windows and neat grid structure inside the venue provided an excellent background, with bright and even lighting. During post-processing, I intentionally lowered the saturation of the background, retaining a grey-and-white cool tone, thereby making the character and dolls—dominated by red, white, and black—stand out even more. The core of shooting this type of character is to restore the elegance and tension that the character inherently carries. This combination of red and white Han-style elements with a Chinese-style ACG look, along with the companionship of the plush dolls, made my experience capturing Cosplay convention photos highly enjoyable, serving as a satisfying test of my degree of restoration.
