I shot these convention photos of Clara at the ACG Exhibition on December 7th. As a character with unique charm in Honkai: Star Rail, I decided to present her at this anime convention. During the preparation process, I spent a lot of effort styling the wig. To restore that silver hair cosplay state which looks slightly messy yet full of vitality, besides basic washing and combing, I also used styling products to create a natural fluffy look with well-layered bangs and sidelocks. The coat uses a fabric with a certain luster, with pure red matching the white fluff stitched on the edges, echoing the white inner shirt. A white scarf is paired at the neckline, and the metallic-textured button on the chest becomes one of the visual focal points, while the leather buckle of the belt also enhances the three-dimensional sense of the costume. The reorganization of the overall red, white, and black color scheme, paired with the striking pink contact lenses, strives to closely match the character's visual impression.

The shooting process was completed in the aisle area of the convention venue. The floor was industrial-style concrete, but we placed a white circular plush carpet under the step stool, instantly adding a touch of softness to the frame. To completely restore the character's setting, I didn't wear shoes during the entire shoot; sitting barefoot on the plush carpet allowed me to feel the temperature difference and softness of the texture. The sitting pose shoot required careful control of body balance, especially when sitting on the step stool. To balance natural movements and expression management, I chose some gestures like waving, saluting, and clasping hands, hoping to display the character's inherently quiet, kind, and unyielding traits in static photos.

The photographer, Boluochuixue, did a great job capturing the light and shadow on-site, beautifully highlighting the subject even under slightly messy light sources. For convention photos, it's all about naturalness and atmosphere. Because it was a live event, there were actually many other attendees and photography equipment around, but the moment the lens focused on me, I tried to concentrate all my attention on the character's inner world. This was also a difficult-to-grasp cosplay attempt, because this character tests not only the accuracy of the costume but also the shaping of the expression. Knowing that I might still have deficiencies in appearance and charm, I added an 'OOC apology' when posting. This humble attitude is also a norm in the community and doesn't need to be overly avoided. Everyone has their unique understanding of their favorite characters, and my presentation is a personal expression.

This shoot made me realize that good convention photos do not require an exceptionally grand background; as long as the lighting is suitable and the props are simple, laying out the character's temperament is enough. Overall, this cosplay experience at the December ACG convention was highly fulfilling, with great coordination with the photographer, freezing several very natural image textures. Whether out of love for the original work or pursuing the character settings, every cosplay photoset is a tribute to the original work. The red-and-white color scheme looked very eye-catching under the venue lighting at that time, gathering a lot of eyes from fellow fans on-site. I am generally quite satisfied with the resulting convention photos, leaving behind wonderful memories of the convention for myself. This showcases the charm of Anime-style photography.
