I finally had the opportunity to shoot a complete photoshoot for this Wuthering Waves Mornye cosplay in a custom design maid outfit. Although I previously tagged it with an "apologies for the custom design" disclaimer, I personally believe that making some daily-life extensions while preserving the character's core temperament is a highly interesting attempt. This time, it's not just about the outfit coordination, but more about interpreting a lively and agile daily state.

For the clothing, I chose the classic maid outfit color scheme of deep navy blue and bright white. This high contrast easily accentuates the silhouette under the camera. The wig was specially custom-made with a gradient of light aqua blue and silver, interspersed with tinsel strands that refract subtle, magical prismatic glints under warm indoor lights, which also serves to match the character's cool and translucent attributes. The thin wire angel halo on top of the head looks lightweight, but securing it actually took quite a lot of effort to ensure it wouldn't slip off while not disrupting the overall visual balance.

The geometric patterns on the white tights are a hidden detail of this look, which, paired with the platform white high heels, beautifully elongates the leg proportions visually. During the shooting process, my favorite was the tray-holding pose. It required an upright stance to emphasize the tailoring of the maid outfit, while keeping the facial expressions soft to present a "poised and effortless" home state. As for the few shots of sitting on the floor hugging a rabbit plushie, they were meant to intentionally dissolve some of the character's innate sense of aloofness, adding a touch of soft daily approachability to Mornye.

Regarding the scene, we specially picked an indoor cafe-cum-studio featuring natural wood tones and vintage rattan furniture. Unlike those cold, harsh black studios, the warm lighting and large blocks of wooden elements allowed the custom design maid style to blend naturally into the environment. Especially in the scene sitting on the rattan chair, turning sideways fully displays the skirt hem and the bow structure on the lower back, while the material contrast between the white high heels and the wooden floor also brings excellent photographic texture.

When shooting, my experience is that a custom design cosplay must always take the character's personality traits into account. Although the attire is a maid outfit, I didn't intentionally force an overly sweet facial expression. Instead, I leaned more toward a quiet, cool, yet earnest state when handling the things at hand (like holding the tray), which is probably one of the reasons why the character Mornye attracts me so much. To capture these details beautifully, the photographer spent a long time adjusting angles up, down, left, and right, finally recording the exact sense of translucency we wanted in this Anime-style photography session.
