[Keqing cosplay] Genshin Impact Witch Fan Art Series: Flowing Purple Hair Transformation

For this photoshoot, I chose a witch-themed Genshin Impact Keqing cosplay based on Witch fan art, incorporating plenty of my favorite purple tones and magical elements. When I first saw this massive black ruffled witch hat, I knew this styling would deliver an intensely atmospheric feel. The tassels on the hat and the cascading purple ribbons create a wonderful dynamic effect when moving. For the hair, I used a light purple wig styled with twin buns and long twintails, accented by a silver butterfly hair accessory on the side to add a sharp, delicate touch.

The outfit is richly layered. The high-collar top retains traditional Chinese elements, while the sheer tulle patchwork and off-the-shoulder cut keep the ensemble feeling remarkably light. What I care about most is the wide black sash with auspicious cloud patterns around the waist; it cinches the waistline visually, and paired with the multi-layered pleated mini-skirt and silver teardrop tassels below, it makes the outfit playful yet magnificent in motion. The combination of long black gloves and a Black tights outfit is what I consider the finishing touch, evoking a dark magical girl aesthetic that elongates the silhouette while forming a classic black-and-purple palette.

The shooting location was chosen outside a traditional architectural complex featuring red pillars and green roof tiles. Under bright sunlight, the deep shadows cast by the buildings created fantastic contrast with the illuminated areas. I've always felt that combining Chinese traditional architecture with fantasy-styled costumes generates an intriguing visual collision. During the shoot, I explored several emotional expressions: in the first photo, sitting sideways on a stone platform while casually holding the hat brim, aiming for a languid yet confident demeanor.

In the second photo taken along the veranda corridor, I raised my head slightly to look at the camera; because the light inside the corridor was softer and more subdued, the overall atmosphere felt very tranquil. In the third photo, holding the hat in hand while turning back sideways, the light and shadow falling across the hair strands looked exceptionally gorgeous, making the purple hair appear remarkably translucent. In the final shot on the outdoor lawn, holding both sides of the hat brim with my body tilted slightly against the natural breeze gave the skirt and ribbons a lively flowing motion—I feel this shot best captured the dynamic vitality of this witch styling.

Speaking of Keqing, her independent, strong-willed, and purpose-driven nature has always captivated me. This "Witch" themed attempt serves as an imagined possibility in a parallel universe—if she weren't a character wielding an Electro Vision in Teyvat, but explored the world in an even more mysterious, liberating way, perhaps she would look just like this.

The beauty of Witch fan art lies in granting familiar characters brand-new colors, which is also why I persist in creating cosplay across varied themes. Throughout the shoot, although the oversized hat often obstructed my view, adapting to it was well worth the effort for the final photos. Even with multiple skirt layers, the dimensional texture under sunlight and the smooth sheen of the stockings became key to conveying the thematic charm. I truly enjoyed immersing myself in this self-crafted character atmosphere, and seeing this witch Keqing brought to life through my own interpretation was the greatest reward of this shoot. Reviewing the purple-hued halos on the camera screen afterward, I knew this outdoor shoot had captured the exact feeling I had envisioned.
