For this Qipao cosplay styling of Formidable in Azur Lane, a lot of thought went into the whole refinement process from costume preparation to final shooting. When I first got the clothes, the first impression was that the layers were very rich. The upper body adopts a white lace apron-style design, with a dark brown ruffled collar inside, and a cutout tailoring specifically made at the waist side to nicely showcase the waistline. The khaki plush shawl on the shoulders has a very soft texture, increasing the overall fluffiness in front of the lens. The wig features light golden straight hair with flat bangs, and the most eye-catching part is definitely the huge black and white lace bows on the head, with cross patterns dotted on the edges, adding a hint of Gothic style sharpness to the overall soft style. To match this styling, I deliberately chose reddish contact lenses for makeup, intensified the under-eye blush, hoping to create an exquisite yet slightly mysterious temperament, and the black lace folding fan held in hand is also a specially matched finishing touch. The lower body combination is black lace shorts with garters, paired with black stockings and black patent leather stiletto high heels. Standing for a long time wearing these very high-heeled shoes on the shooting day made my calves indeed a bit sore and swollen, but to keep the extension feeling of the leg lines in the photos, I still had to try my best to maintain an upright posture throughout the shoot. The strap details on the black stockings formed a great echo with the cutout design on the upper body, visually making the legs look even longer. To match the beauty of the clothing combining Chinese and Western elements, the scene arrangement specially chose classic Chinese props. The background features hanging calligraphy paintings and wooden screens, surrounded by redwood ring chairs, celadon vases, and vibrant red plum branches. During the shooting, the photographer kept guiding me to use the chair to change poses; whether sitting upright with crossed legs or leaning sideways, the folding fan in hand was needed to enrich hand movements. The red plum oiled paper umbrella on the ground and that expressive yellow plush toy added a cute contrast to the slightly gorgeous and aloof atmosphere. In terms of lighting, the overall setup was very transparent, perfectly highlighting the lace texture of the clothes and skin texture. This style of blending Western-style dresses with Chinese classical elements is very full in visual presentation, requiring a lot of body language coordination. The light, shadow, and detail capture of the entire set of photos achieved the expected results; I find this visual attempt very interesting, and I also hope everyone can feel this unique aesthetic.
