[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane's Lunar New Year Qipao: A Dedicated Convention Photos Archive

It's been a while since I shot these convention photos for Azur Lane's Cheshire in her Lunar New Year Qipao, so I finally sorted through them to archive this set. When I first got this red Qipao outfit, my immediate impression was how its vibrant, festive atmosphere perfectly suited the holiday theme. The hair ornament features iconic red-and-white color-blocked oversized bows, paired with a short wig blending silver-gray and soft cyan-blue tones for strong visual impact. The other is a seated pose gently handling a red beaded accessory, radiating a softer, more relaxed mood. To complement this anime-traditional Chinese aesthetic, makeup emphasized eye contours with slightly richer blush. Backed by ample venue lighting, post-processing preserved the original lighting setup, simply refining skin tone smoothness and garment color saturation.

Some friends might wonder why the title mentions a "dedicated archive." Over the past few months since shooting, quite a few sets accumulated on my hard drive, and I only recently resumed editing when time permitted. For me, this set isn't just a cosplay log; it was an exercise in managing crisp composition, lighting, and prop interaction within a noisy convention hall environment. Photographing vibrant red ensembles with fluffy plush accessories and high-slit cuts during conventions heavily tests a photographer's timing, while requiring the cosplayer to instinctively use body turns and leg positioning to filter out background crowds.

The actual shooting process was swift, taking less than half an hour of focused shooting. However, selecting fabric textures, styling the wig, and sourcing ideal ambient light required considerable preparation. For props, the banner and red beads represent iconic Spring Festival elements that echo the outfit's color scheme effortlessly during poses. Even though it isn't currently the Spring Festival, this vibrant palette remains timelessly striking.
