At this anime convention, I finally captured finalized convention photos for my Laffey cosplay in her Bunny girl outfit. From fabric selection to the finished costume, we made numerous adjustments because glossy materials are very demanding on lighting and body lines—any imperfection can easily make the silhouette look bulky, so we deliberately cinched the waist and abdomen curves. The oversized white sleeves, the bow on the blue headband, and the white fluffy pom-poms on the chest combine to evoke that vibrant, lively anime bunny girl aesthetic. For makeup, I steered clear of heavy application, keeping the eye makeup luminous and clear to pair with the white wig, aiming to capture Laffey's gap-moe contrast: typically sleepy and languid, yet remarkably agile and spirited when called into action. We also debated the placement of the bunny ear headpiece for a while—tilting it slightly forward makes the face appear smaller, but placing it too high risked blocking friends behind me during group photos. The lighting on the day of the shoot was wonderfully soft; choosing an outdoor street setting with a shallow depth of field made the blue-and-white color palette look remarkably clean, freeing the overall composition from convention clutter and leaning toward a cozy, slice-of-life 2D vibe.
Regarding the lower-half details, pulling off a white thigh-highs outfit with white tights can be quite a test of leg proportions, but pairing them with chunky black platform Mary Jane shoes elongated the silhouette beautifully. Subtle star patterns on the stockings added a playful touch. The fluffy pom-poms on the shoes and outfit swayed gently while walking, which created fantastic dynamic visual flair during candid motion shots, giving a direct impression of nimble playfulness. During the shoot, I deliberately incorporated poses like tiptoeing on one foot, leaning slightly forward, or glancing back over the shoulder, as Laffey's in-game live2D poses have that exact sense of lightness. Wearing this high-cut bodysuit was a unique experience; while it visibly elongates body proportions, standing for long periods tests core stamina—though for the sake of the final images, it was well worth the effort.
Walking around the convention floor, the outfit turned an unexpected number of heads. Many passing visitors stopped to ask which game the character was from or complimented the silky texture of the white wig. Achieving high character fidelity brings immense fulfillment to a cosplayer. In post-processing, my top priority was retaining natural skin texture, avoiding excessive smoothing to make the photos feel like candid moments caught in real life. I'm very satisfied with how this little white bunny look turned out overall. If time permits later, I might do an indoor studio session to experiment with different lighting and props, since the same character can project completely different moods under varying light sources.
