[Castorice Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Evernight Moon, Suzhou ACG Convention Record

At the Suzhou ACG convention venue today, I participated in the event as Castorice (Evernight Moon version) from Honkai: Star Rail.

The primary step in cosplaying this character was handling the hair details. For the light purple wig, I specially trimmed the bangs to maintain texture while ensuring they wouldn't obstruct my view. The purple contact lenses fit smoothly without noticeable slippage, perfectly creating that deep and slightly mysterious gaze of the character. When applying makeup, I kept the base light, focusing on accentuating the eye contours and curled eyelashes. The eyeshadow featured a slightly shimmery pink tone, which both echoed the bowtie at the collar and enhanced the overall translucency.

In terms of outfit pairing, the most eye-catching element was the pink bowtie accessory at the collar. Its texture and shape had great fidelity, pairing with the upper white silky dress and dark purple gloves to create distinct layers. To walk around the anime convention for long periods without parts falling off, I made some hidden securing adjustments on the inside—for example, the glove's elastic band fit snugly around the wrist without hindering me from holding my phone for selfies. The black geometric horns on top of the head and the pink flower accents also required careful angle checking to avoid being knocked crooked by surrounding crowds while walking around the venue.

The shooting segment was quite relaxed. I found a spot in the convention's photography area with a softbox. The ambient light was warm-toned, creating nice highlight areas when shining on the white clothing. My companion cosplayed March 7th with pink hair and black horn accessories; when we met backstage, we immediately started fooling around together. As I mentioned in a previous post, \"One of us seems not very bright,\" which is actually a true portrayal of our daily banter. The second picture was shot with her leaning her cheek on her hand looking into the camera; the composition was really interesting, making her look delightfully lazy. The first picture was a selfie I took with my phone; to capture the collar bowtie and purple hair completely, I adjusted several angles, just happening to capture the hall's ceiling beams and background photography equipment.

The lively sense of atmosphere is unique to anime conventions, with an endless stream of visitors and cosplayers around, and occasional passersby or photographers coming over to ask for convention photos. To maintain the character's presence, I restrained my expressions slightly when being photographed and held a straight, posture-up pose to highlight Castorice (Evernight Moon version)'s cool, distant aura. But once back beside my friend, I immediately relaxed again, slipping into a thoroughly laid-back \"convention state.\"

Cosplaying a character with such distinct aura and accessories tests your focus most in a chaotic environment. Putting on the full hair and makeup all morning combined with walking around the venue grounds left me physically exhausted, to be honest. But seeing the resulting convention photos—especially the flowers on the headpiece and the luster reflected off the long purple hair—made all the effort feel worthwhile. Regarding lighting, the softbox on set catered well to the character subject, making skin tones appear fair and even without harsh shadow breaks, leaving ample room for post-processing to further enhance the texture of this Evernight Moon look.

Packing up to head home and looking back at the bustling Suzhou ACG venue, I felt this character pairing with my friend was truly a great match. March 7th cosplay's lively, outgoing trait formed a nice contrast with the cool distant feeling of my Castorice cosplay, perfectly displaying this gap when taking photos together. I hope the convention photos taken by photographers on site can continue to pass along this character's captivating atmosphere.
