[Tang Wutong Cosplay] Soul Land II: The Unrivaled Tang Sect, Dance of the Radiant Garment and Frost Dancing Together

This set of Tang Wutong's Dance of the Radiant Garment look has been shot.

The overall costume adopts a gradient colorway of blue, white, and pink; the outer jacket is a patchwork of semi-transparent white gauze and light blue fabric, featuring a silver butterfly metallic accessory right in the center of the chest. The pink inner lining is faintly visible beneath the criss-cross straps and silver buckles at the waist. The geometric patterns and lines on the skirt hem showcase a highly detailed printing craftsmanship.

The wig styling has a high level of restoration, with light blue long hair, two delicate hair buns on top of the head equipped with silver hair accessories, cascading naturally down the sides. I usually spend a lot of time adjusting the wig bangs and side stray hairs to make it fit my face shape and exhibit the character's temperament. The colored contacts were also selected in a matching light blue to strengthen the visual effect of the blue hair cosplay.

The shooting location this time was at a convention venue, with photography by Pulao 411. The environmental lighting inside the convention hall is relatively complex, with cool-toned hall lights on the ceiling. To highlight the main character subject, the photographer used fill light equipment, making the light on my face clean and soft, completely separating me from the complex surrounding background. Faraway blurred exhibition panels and passersby can be faintly seen in the background; this shallow depth-of-field effect happens to emphasize the costume and the person itself.

Regarding convention photos, everyone often says that the three elements of portrait photography are crucial. When shooting on-site, due to needing to stand for a long time, although the skirt hem of this outfit is relatively wide and quite convenient to move around in, its sleeves are designed as detached long sleeves. Although this design reduces the sense of restriction on the arms, when performing or making large movements on stage, one must constantly pay attention to the position of the cuffs to prevent them from slipping off.

While tidying up the look, I found the skirt hem design of this Dance of the Radiant Garment to be highly interesting: the drape of the outer ice-blue layer and the inner pink lace skirt trim form a very distinct color contrast. This combination of cool and warm tones brings out a feeling that is as cool as frost yet carries a neon-like soft light. To present this feeling in the photos, I referenced standing postures from various angles, such as a side-glance back, crossed hands, or catching the dynamic movement of holding the skirt side. In the shot where both hands lift the skirt, the photographer beautifully captured the arc of the skirt unfolding, which, combined with the lines on the jacket, completely presented the rich layers of the entire costume in an instant.

Since I usually practice posing, in this session for convention photos, I tried my best to vary my movements within the limited space based on the characteristics of the costume, making the standing posture look more natural. Many people take convention photos by sticking to one single pose from beginning to end, but switching up a few angles and utilizing the structure of the clothing more often yields better results. During this shooting process, we also noticed that the on-site lighting struck beautiful rim light on the edges of the hair, making the hair strands appear more fluffy and dimensional.

All in all, standing in front of the lens in this outfit was genuinely a time filled with an excellent shooting experience. The details of the costume, the texture of the props, the length of the hair—this entire outfit demands a certain level of physical stamina and styling maintenance, but the final convention photo results leave me highly satisfied.
