Since the caption mentioned darling, the conception of this set of photos starts from Cheshire's clingy and alluring cat-like traits. To break away from the conventional uniform feel, this time I purposely chose a modified qipao made of deep blue velvet material. The fabric has subtle reflections under the lighting, which, combined with gold-thread cloud-pattern embroidery and the hollow teardrop design on the chest, visually enhances the layering. The frog buttons at the collar and the golden tassel pendants were key adjustment areas when creating this styling, because I wanted that exquisite yet uncomplicated effect. The wig chose a grayish-blue gradient style, trimmed with blunt bangs and layers on both sides to fit the contour of the cat ear headwear, and the white roses and lace trims on both sides also increased the overall gorgeousness. Makeup mainly emphasizes eyeshadow blending, matched with blue-gray contact lenses to make the gaze more vibrant, and a warm-toned orange-red was used for the lips to neutralize the cool feel of the night scene tone.
As someone shooting photos for herself, pre-planning lighting and composition is extremely important. This time, the scene was built with a huge moon background, cherry blossoms, and wooden lanterns. When the cold white moonlight and warm yellow lantern light alternately hit the subject, it required constantly testing the camera's white balance and fill light. The posture of holding the round fan was practiced for a long time to ensure the fan surface just blocks the chin and chest to form a composition, while the gaze catches the lens. Wearing white lace thigh-high stockings and black high heels was intended to elongate the visual proportion of the legs, so when shooting standing poses, I deliberately found a ladder as an auxiliary support, with one foot stepping on the step and the other foot extending out, which, combined with the black semi-transparent lace gloves, makes the body lines smoother. To restore that "rubbing-rubbing" interactive feeling, in the single-leg standing posture, I deliberately added an action of holding a teacup and gently approaching the face, leaning sideways slightly forward to display the waistline and leg lines while controlling facial expressions to appear close yet without losing the rhythm of the lens.
Post-processing color grading mainly revolves around cool-warm contrast, retaining the blue-black luster of the velvet fabric, while adding a bit of cyan-blue in the shadows, brightening the warm colors of the lighting to give the frame that fantasy feeling of a late-night courtyard encounter. In terms of props, besides the regular round fan and teacup, there is also a black stand printed with letters, which, paired with the high-raised arm posture, adds a bit of combat or performance stage atmosphere to the overall styling. In terms of action choreography, the entire photoset covers various postures such as kneeling, side-lying, and single-leg standing, presenting the tailoring and texture of this costume from different angles. During the shooting period, it was indeed necessary to balance camera parameters and one's own expressiveness, but seeing these light and shadow details in the final photos, I feel that the preliminary preparation and repeated adjustments were all worth it.
