To match the rugged feel of the scene, the outfit chose a black leather crop top paired with a tight leather pants outfit, plus a complexly designed white tactical belt hanging with a few orange cylindrical props. The goggles for head accessories are the finishing touch, and the orange-red lenses will have a special halo in front of the lens.
The weather on the day of the shoot was very good, with the 3 or 4 PM sunlight slanting into the factory area, forming a very beautiful side backlight. Many people think that shooting techwear cosplay in an abandoned scene just requires looking cool, but actually it's not like that. For example, in the photo sitting on the front of the car, the angle of the crossed legs and the shift of the body's center of gravity required trying several times to find the exact point that best showcases the leg lines and waist-to-line proportion. Although the leather pants have elasticity, if you make movements on an uneven hood, you still need to pay attention to anti-slip and joint pulling.
The goggles and choker felt a bit stuffy under long-time shooting, but for the sake of the photo effect, these can all be overcome. During the shooting process, the photographer used the yellow caution tape as a foreground, creating a dangerous sense of boundary. Following the direction of the caution tape, I adjusted the sitting posture and the landing point of the gaze, utilizing the visual impact of red colored contacts and red lips to keep the frame maintaining a cold and crisp tension amidst warm tones. The holding method of the prop knife was also adjusted a few times to avoid blocking facial light.
The colored contacts chosen this time are deep red, paired with slightly upturned eyeliner, which can well catch the visual center under backlight. On the hairstyle, to reduce the interference brought by the wind, stray hairs were specially styled and fixed while retaining a partial messy feel, matching the wasteland style setting. The overall makeup emphasizes a matte texture, and the base makeup did not show obvious reflection under strong outdoor light.
The props used in this shoot were basically handmade or pieced together, and the small accessories on the tactical belt were actually disassembled from other equipment. To make anime cosplay photos exude texture, the detail texture of the costume, the utilization of light, and the body language fitting the setting are all indispensable. The whole process was very physically demanding, but seeing the light and shadow and atmosphere of the finished photos, all the preliminary preparations were completely worth it.
